A new take on the iconic Multifort collection in black and yellow hues
Mido has long championed mechanical innovation wrapped in distinctive design. Among its most emblematic lines is the Multifort, a collection that dates back to 1934 and continues to evolve with a confident blend of sportiness and modern flair. In 2023, the brand revived one of its most striking designs from the 1970s, the TV-shaped case, and this year, that retro form returns with a daring black and yellow twist.
The new watch features a robust case crafted from polished and brushed stainless steel, measuring 40mm across and 39.2mm in height, with a lug-to-lug span of 46.85mm and a modest profile. The front is topped with a sapphire crystal, coated on both sides with anti-reflective treatment and marked by the signature sandblasted dot at 12 o’clock. On the back, a screw-down transparent caseback offers a full view of the movement. The watch is water-resistant to 100 meters, aided by a screw-down crown.
The dial fades from a deep black edge to a lighter grey center, framed by a bold yellow minute track along the flange. Applied indices and black hour and minute hands. filled with white Super-LumiNova, ensure excellent legibility even in low light. A yellow seconds hand adds a vibrant pop of color. At 12 o’clock, Mido’s signature large date window stands out.
Powering the watch is Mido’s automatic Caliber 80, based on the ETA C07.651. This movement operates at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3 Hz) and delivers an 80-hour power reserve. It comes paired with a black textile strap on a black rubber base, accented with yellow stitching to match the dial. The strap features quick-release lug bars for easy changes and is secured with a steel pin buckle.
This is not a limited edition, but a regular production model joining the Multifort TV Big Date family as a permanent addition, priced at EUR 1,070, approximately AED 4,600.
