The integrated sports watch returns with a more refined touch
Swiss watch brand MIDO continues to expand its Multifort 8 Two Crowns lineup with the introduction of a new rose gold PVD version, bringing a warmer, more refined aesthetic to the brand’s integrated sports watch platform. Retaining the technical characteristics that define the Multifort range, the latest model combines a matte black dial with rose gold–treated surfaces. With its assertive character, defined by a striking octagonal bezel and horizontal dial decoration, the Multifort 8 Two Crowns embodies a bold and contemporary interpretation of Swiss sports watchmaking.
The Multifort 8 Two Crowns brings the Multifort collection, first introduced in 1934, firmly into the modern era while reinterpreting its historical design codes. The signature horizontal motif and recessed indexes animate the matte black dial, creating a pronounced sense of depth and visual dynamism.
The dual-crown configuration pays tribute to MIDO’s watchmaking heritage. Positioned at 4 o’clock, the first crown is used for setting the time and date, while the crown at 2 o’clock activates the internal rotating flange, enabling practical countdown timing without the need for an external bezel.
The 40 mm case is crafted from stainless steel and finished with a full rose gold PVD coating. Alternating brushed and polished surfaces accentuate the angular architecture of the case and integrated lugs, while the prominent octagonal bezel further reinforces the watch’s sporty identity. Despite its robust appearance, the case remains slim at just 9.50 mm thick, with a lug-to-lug length of under 45 mm. Water resistance is rated at 100 metres.
The matte black dial features horizontal grooves, a recurring design element across the collection. Recessed hour markers are applied throughout, with round markers for most hours and trapezoidal shapes highlighting the quarter positions. Faceted rose gold–coloured hands are filled with white Super-LumiNova, ensuring legibility in low-light conditions. A framed date window is positioned at 3 o’clock.
Powering the watch is the MIDO Calibre 72 automatic movement. Based on the ETA A31.111 architecture, it operates at a frequency of 25,200 vibrations per hour (3.5 Hz) and delivers an impressive power reserve of up to 72 hours. A Nivachron balance spring enhances resistance to magnetism, temperature variations, and shocks. The movement can be admired through the sapphire crystal caseback.
The watch is fitted with a black rubber strap featuring an embossed pattern that echoes the horizontal texture of the dial. It is secured with a rose gold PVD-coated pin buckle and equipped with a quick-release system for effortless strap changes.
The Multifort 8 Two Crowns Rose Gold PVD is not a limited edition and is priced at CHF 1,150, equivalent to approximately AED 5,360.
