Introducing The New Zenith Chronomaster Original Triple Calendar
Welcome to the hub of the horoloy
Paying homage to a variant released twenty years ago with an enamel dial
Throughout history, timekeeping devices have evolved remarkably, yet their early designs were notably simplistic. Church towers, table clocks, and clocks traditionally displayed time with a single hand. This solitary hand would sweep the dial, marking the passage of hours without the precision of minutes or seconds. It was not until the dawn of modernity and the surge of industrialization that society's need for measuring increasingly shorter time intervals became apparent. Consequently, clocks began to incorporate minute and second hands to cater to this growing demand for accuracy.
In homage to the origins of horology, MeisterSinger, a renowned German watch brand, embraces this simplicity by crafting one-handed watches. Their designs evoke a sense of tranquility and a return to the basics of timekeeping, reminiscent of early clocks and pocket watches. MeisterSinger has consistently upheld this philosophy across various releases, including day and date variants, as well as summer-themed watches. This year, the brand is releasing the limited edition Enamel Edition 1Z.
The watch features a 43mm diameter and a thickness of 12.6mm. It is equipped with a polished stainless steel case, a domed sapphire crystal over the dial, and a mineral crystal on the caseback. Additionally, it offers 50 meters of water resistance.
The new watch honors the original Edition 1Z, launched in 2004, which was the brand’s first model with a genuine enamel dial and an ETA/Unitas 6497 pocket watch movement. The new Enamel Edition 1Z features an enamel dial with a modified ETA/Unitas 6498 manual-winding pocket watch movement, operating at 18,000vph (2.5Hz), and offering a 46-hour power reserve. The dial is adorned with a single blued hand for indicating hours and minutes. Consistent with the brand's other releases, time is marked in five-minute intervals.
The watch comes with a cognac calfskin leather strap with a double-folding clasp, it is limited to 24 pieces, and priced at EUR 4,990, equivalent to AED 20,000.
