Celebrating 50 Years of the Brand’s Legacy
Maurice Lacroix was founded in 1975 and has built a reputation for combining Swiss watchmaking heritage with innovative design. Among its notable collections is Aikon, launched in 2016, which quickly became known for its urban sophistication and distinctive bezel design. Building on this success, Maurice Lacroix introduced the Aikonic collection as an evolution of Aikon, combining the signature design elements with advanced craftsmanship and modern materials.
As part of the brand’s 50th anniversary celebration, Maurice Lacroix unveils its latest creation: the “Aikonic Master Triple Retrograde”. This model is inspired by the brand’s history in mechanical complications, including the Calendar Retrograde (1999) and Double Retrograde (2002). Its design draws from the signature bezel arms of the Aikonic series, with rhodium-plated, finely polished hands and a central satin finish.
The watch comes in a robust 43 mm stainless steel case accented with a brushed and polished black ceramic bezel, highlighted by the signature six “claws” design in sandblasted black ceramic. The screwed stainless steel crown is topped with a black ceramic cover, complementing the overall contemporary aesthetic. The case stands 13 mm thick and is equipped with a sapphire crystal front glass with double anti-reflective coating, while the open case back also features sapphire with anti-reflective treatment, offering a clear view of the movement. Designed for everyday wear, the watch is water-resistant to 100m, combining technical resilience with refined design.
The watch features a skeletonised dial with four apertures, each revealing sections of the movement’s rhodium-plated mainplate adorned with Côtes de Genève decoration. At 12 o’clock, 9 o’clock, and 6 o’clock, retrograde indicators display home time (GMT), the day, and the date, while a small seconds display is positioned at 9 o’clock. The dial itself is anthracite with vertical brushing, complemented by anthracite counters with silver powder-printed markings and a rhodium circular brushed bridge.
Applied rhodium indexes feature a sandblasted central line, and the hour and minute hands are rhodium-faceted with white Super-Luminova and a central sandblasted finish. The small seconds hand is similarly rhodium-faceted, while the retrograde hands are blued and faceted, also finished with a sandblasted central line. An anthracite external flange with silver powder-printed minutes completes the dial, combining depth, architectural layering, and exceptional legibility.
The watch is powered by the automatic manufacture calibre ML291, delivering a power reserve of approximately 38 hours and operating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz). The movement features rhodium-plated bridges decorated with Côtes de Genève finishing on the upper plate. The skeletonized automatic rotor is also adorned with Côtes de Genève patterns.
It comes with a bi-material rubber strap featuring a black rubber base and a black textured nylon-effect rubber inset, detailed with black stitching and a black rubber M-logo. The watch is priced at EUR 7,500, approximately AED 31,800.
