20 Independent Watchmakers from Around the World Advance to the Second Edition of the Competition
Louis Vuitton has announced the 20 semi-finalists for the second edition of the Louis Vuitton Watch Prize for Independent Creatives. Launched in 2022 by Jean Arnault, Director of Watches at Louis Vuitton and son of Bernard Arnault, Chairman and CEO of LVMH, the prize, established in collaboration with La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton aims to celebrate and support the next generation of independent watchmakers from around the globe.

Following the success of the inaugural edition, which saw Raúl Pagès take home the prize and use the grant and mentorship to further develop his independent journey, the initiative continues to spotlight exceptional talent in contemporary horology.
This year, Louis Vuitton has assembled a committee of 65 distinguished experts, including leading watchmakers, journalists, collectors, and creatives, each contributing their unique perspective to the selection process.
From hundreds of entries submitted worldwide, 20 semi-finalists have been shortlisted by the Expert Committee of the Louis Vuitton Watch Prize for Independent Creatives. Each submission was evaluated based on five key criteria: Design, Creativity and Audacity, Details and Finishes, Complexity, and Technical Innovation.
The Expert Committee will now deliberate to select five finalists, who will be announced on December 15, 2025, along with the five members of the final jury. These finalists will be invited to Paris on March 24, 2026, to present their creations in person. During this final round, the jury will conduct interviews and ultimately choose the winner of the second edition of the Prize.
The winner will be revealed that evening at a special ceremony held at La Fondation Louis Vuitton. The award includes a grant of EUR 150,000 and a year-long personalized mentorship provided by experts from La Fabrique du Temps and Louis Vuitton.
