Introducing Breguet Refreshes the Tradition Collection with a Modern Touch
Welcome to the hub of the horoloy
A new chapter in their partnership introduces a silver monochrome regulator
Louis Erard walks a fine line between tradition and modernity, making Swiss craftsmanship accessible while challenging conventions. In recent years, under the leadership of Manuel Emch, the brand has redefined itself through daring partnerships with horological visionaries such as the French independent watchmaker Vianney Halter, resulting in creations like the one-of-one Le Régulateur and the Louis Erard x Vianney Halter II. With today’s launch of the new Regulator II World Tour, the collaboration takes another step forward, presenting a striking silver monochrome dial.
The watch is housed in a stainless steel case measuring 43 mm in diameter, 10.95 mm in thickness, and 49.6 mm lug-to-lug. A mix of polished and satin-brushed surfaces creates a refined play of light, while twelve polished red-gilt rivets around the bezel provide a bold frame. At 2 o’clock, the offset crown bears Vianney Halter’s distinctive design motif.
The transparent sapphire caseback reveals the movement and carries an engraving unique to each edition. Halter’s well-known motto, “Live Long and Prosper,” is adapted into different languages depending on the city where the watch is released. The case is water-resistant to 50 meters.
The rhodium-plated monochrome dial is executed with satin-brushed surfaces and polished chamfers, creating depth and contrast. The regulator layout is deconstructed into separate registers: an hours counter at 11 o’clock, a central minutes hand, and a seconds counter at 5 o’clock. Louis Erard and Vianney Halter place their signatures at 2 and 8 o’clock, while blued steel hands, unmistakably Halter’s, complete the design.
The World Tour makes each stop unique. The worldwide edition, limited to 178 pieces, features a blued seconds hand and an engraved caseback reading “Louis Erard x Vianney Halter Limited Edition 1 of 178.” Takamatsu, Japan, receives 25 pieces with a rhodium seconds hand and the engraving “Longue vie et prospérité.” Bangkok, Thailand, is home to 18 pieces with an anthracite seconds hand and the motto “Live long and prosper.” Hong Kong receives 25 pieces with a purple seconds hand and the same motto in Chinese, while Singapore offers 25 pieces with a red-gilded seconds hand and the familiar engraving “Live long and prosper.”
Inside beats the automatic Sellita SW266-1 regulator calibre, operating at 28,800 vph (4 Hz) with a 38-hour power reserve. The movement is fitted with an openworked rotor bearing the black lacquered Louis Erard symbol. Completing the watch is a dark blue grained calf leather strap, secured by a polished stainless steel pin buckle and fitted with quick-change bars for tool-free swapping.
The Regulator II World Tour is released in two forms: a global monochrome edition of 178 pieces, and traveling city editions divided into drops of 18 to 25 units each, adding up to another 178 pieces. The price is CHF 4,500, approximately AED 20,800.
