Introducing Leica Launches The New ZM 12 Collection

Leica might be best known for its high-end cameras, but back in 2018, it decided to dip its toes into watchmaking, and it hasn’t looked back since. The brand’s passion for this new venture has only grown, with a lineup of impressive releases, including the ZM 11 collection, which we talked about last year. Riding on that success, Leica is now unveiling the ZM 12, a sleeker, smaller version with a refined 39mm case.

The ZM 12 stays true to the key elements of the ZM 11, carrying over many of the design features that have defined the series. The primary difference here is the size, as Leica caters to those who prefer a more compact fit without compromising the watch’s performance or aesthetic.

The watch features a 39mm case, 2mm smaller than the ZM 11, making it an ideal choice for those who favor a more refined, mid-sized watch. However, the thickness remains the same at 13mm. Available in two case materials, 316L stainless steel and grade 5 titanium for the chocolate brown model, the ZM 12 boasts a 100-meter water resistance rating, thanks to its screw-down crown and robust sapphire crystal caseback.

The dial is available in four captivating colors: dark green, white, chocolate brown, and blue. The hands and indices are treated with Super-LumiNova, ensuring excellent legibility in low light. At the 6 o'clock position, a small seconds sub-dial is featured.

Powering the watch is the Leica Calibre LA-3002, an automatic movement developed in collaboration with Swiss movement specialists Chronode. This movement offers a reliable 60-hour power reserve and operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz).

The watches come with a variety of strap and bracelet options. The integrated rubber straps are available in orange, black, and beige, with a distinctive pattern on the orange rubber variant, making it stand out. The bracelets are offered in stainless steel and titanium, with the Easy-Change strap system, featuring its signature red dot fasteners, ensuring effortless swapping between straps.

Pricing for the ZM 12 starts at USD 6,250, approximately AED 23,000 for the steel variants and USD 7,000, approximately AED 25,800 for the titanium model.
