A limited edition in steel and gold honoring the legacy of the luxury sports watch
Fifty years ago, Girard-Perregaux unveiled the Laureato, a timepiece that would mark one of the defining chapters in the brand’s history, and one of the earliest examples of a luxury sports watch with an integrated bracelet. Entirely designed, developed, and produced in-house, the Laureato quickly became a benchmark of refined sportiness.
To celebrate its half-century, Girard-Perregaux introduces a limited edition of 200 pieces: the Laureato FIFTY. Featuring all the attributes that make it quintessentially Laureato, this anniversary edition pays vibrant tribute to the past while projecting the brand confidently into the future.
True to its origins, the Laureato FIFTY draws on the nobility of materials, combining stainless steel with 3N yellow gold, a nod to the first two-tone model introduced in 1975, now reimagined with a contemporary edge.
The tonneau-shaped case has been reworked with sharper angles, more pronounced bevels, and an even smoother integration of the bracelet.
Measuring 39mm in diameter and just 9.8mm thick, the case retains the classic Laureato form, a stainless steel tonneau base topped with a gold octagonal bezel.
Finishing is meticulous, with horizontal satin brushing on the case, circular satin brushing on the bezel, and polished bevels that catch the light beautifully. The octagonal gold crown bears the GP logo, while sapphire crystals on both sides ensure durability and clarity. Water resistance has been upgraded to 150 meters.
The deep sunray grey dial features the signature Clous de Paris pattern, enhanced by 3N gold hour markers and hands. The central seconds hand is balanced by a counterweight shaped like the double-arrow GP emblem, while a date window at 3 o’clock sits on a color-matched disc for visual harmony.
Inside beats the brand-new Caliber 4800, an automatic movement designed and built entirely in-house. It features a silicon escapement, a variable-inertia balance, and refined finishing inspired by Girard-Perregaux’s iconic three-bridge architecture. The solid 18K gold rotor bears the brand’s wordmark and logo in relief. Beating at a frequency of 4Hz (28,800 vph), the movement offers a robust 55-hour power reserve.
The integrated bracelet flows seamlessly from the case, pairing brushed stainless steel with polished 18K yellow gold intermediate links that add subtle contrast and sophistication. The clasp incorporates an innovative fine-adjustment system, allowing for precise micro-adjustments of up to 4mm for enhanced comfort.
Limited to just 200 pieces, the Girard-Perregaux Laureato FIFTY is priced at CHF 25,500, equivalent to AED 117,800.
