Grand Feu enamel elevates La Regatta to a new level
L’Epée 1839 remained dedicated exclusively to the creation of high-end mechanical clocks, preserving a specialization that has become increasingly rare in an industry dominated by wristwatches. Over nearly two centuries, L’Epée has shaped an identity defined by advanced architectural movements, and a design language where structure and mechanics are inseparable. La Regatta belongs firmly to this category. Conceived as a vertical time object inspired by a racing sailboat. In its latest releases, the brand is launching the La Regatta Métiers d’Art, where the original concept is elevated through artisanal enamel work.

La Regatta rises vertically to a height of 518 mm and rests on a square footprint measuring 120 mm on each side. Its structure is formed from palladium-plated brass, stainless steel, and aluminium, brought to life through a combination of polished, satin-brushed, and sandblasted finishes.

The indication is guided by discreet hands that interact directly with the exposed mechanism. There are no traditional markers to frame the display. Instead, the entire arrangement is organized along a single upright axis, with the barrel and escapement positioned at opposing ends.

Encasing this mechanical spine is an enamelled hull executed in Grand Feu enamel by the Georgian atelier David Kakabadze Enamel. Each La Regatta Métiers d’Art is crafted as a unique, one-of-one creation and may incorporate techniques such as cloisonné defined by fine gold wires, paillons using silver leaf, flinqué enamel layered over guilloché metal, or plique-à-jour compositions reminiscent of stained glass.

At the heart of the object is an in-house movement developed specifically for this vertical architecture. The calibre is manually wound, operates at a frequency of 18,000 vph (2.5 Hz), and delivers an eight-day power reserve. Each La Regatta Métiers d’Art is produced as a singular piece, with customization available upon request. Pricing is likewise available upon request.
