The New Patek Philippe Twenty~4 7340/1R Perpetual Calendar

Introduced in 1999, the Twenty~4 collection was Patek Philippe’s first dedicated line of feminine timepieces. The original model featured an Art Deco-inspired manchette (cuff) design, but in 2018, the brand unveiled the Twenty~4 Automatic, which is a round-cased iteration powered by an automatic movement. This year, Patek Philippe elevates the collection further by introducing a perpetual calendar complication, marking the collection's debut in the realm of Grand Complications.
Crafted entirely in 18K rose gold, the watch features a 36mm case with a slender profile of just 9.95mm, making it sit gracefully on the wrist. The case is meticulously finished with a combination of polished and brushed surfaces, enhancing its refined aesthetic. Two dial options are available. The Ref. 7340/1R-001 features a silvery opaline dial with a vertical satin finish, evoking the texture of shantung silk that feature irregular texture, while the Ref. 7340/1R-010 presents an olive green sunburst dial for a more contemporary appeal.

Hands on Krayon’s Newest Release: Anywhere Arborea Métiers d’Art 2024

Hand-painted dial inspired by a famous work of French artist Henri Rousseau

Krayon is a relatively young yet highly innovative Swiss watch company founded by watchmaker Rémi Maillat in 2013. The brand quickly garnered attention for its unique approach to high-end complications, particularly its ability to blend artistry with mechanics, creating sophisticated and functional timepieces.

Krayon is best known for its groundbreaking watch, the "Anywhere" introduced in 2020. This timepiece became one of the first mechanical watches capable of calculating the times of sunrise and sunset for any location on Earth, based on the wearer’s geographical coordinates. The "Anywhere" is available in various stunning designs, as previously showcased on our platform; you can read about Krayon’s earlier editions here.

Now, the company unveils a new timepiece that celebrates the art of Métiers d’Art and pays homage to one of the most famous jungle-themed paintings by French post-impressionist painter Henri Rousseau: The Virgin Forest (La Forêt Vierge), painted in 1907. Taking inspiration from famous paintings is not new for the brand, as they previously created a unique piece showcasing a dial inspired by Vincent van Gogh’s beautiful painting, The Starry Night.

The new watch is presented in a 950 platinum case, maintaining the classic design and dimensions of previous editions, measuring 39mm in diameter and 9.5mm in thickness. It features sapphire crystals on both the front and case back, ensuring water resistance up to 30 meters.

The Krayon Anywhere Arborea Métiers d’Art 2024 showcases Swiss craftsmanship with its exquisite hand-painted dial, a contemporary reinterpretation of The Virgin Forest at Sunset. This artwork employs a champlevé enameling process, utilizing 575 small cells.

This masterpiece features a central display for hours and minutes, framed by two sapphire discs indicating day and night, with a white gold sun. Additionally, sunrise and sunset times are calculated based on the wearer’s chosen location. A 24-hour time display surrounds the dial, complemented by a simple subdial showcasing the calendar and month, positioned at 6 o’clock.

Powering the watch is the in-house caliber C030, which debuted in 2020. This manually wound movement operates at 21,600 vph (3 Hz) and offers a 72-hour power reserve. The movement is renowned for its high-end finishing, exemplifying Krayon's commitment to quality and craftsmanship.

The Krayon Anywhere Arborea Métiers d’Art 2024 paired with a black alligator leather strap, complemented by a platinum pin buckle. This timepiece is a limited edition of only 15 pieces. Priced at CHF 178,000, which is approximately AED 783,400.
