Biver and Joel Niño introducing a unique piece inspired from the mexican heritage
As a tribute to tradition, culture, and the Mexican celebration of the Day of the Dead, Biver collaborated with the mexican artist Joel Niño creating a unique timepiece for the “Salon Internacional de Alta Relojería” to be held in Mexico City from October 17 to 19, 2023.

Early on this year, the “Carillon Tourbillon Biver” was introduced in 3 variants, a gold, titanium or two toned case, measuring 42 mm in diameter and 13.70 mm in thickness, distinguished by a carillon minute repeater, epitomizing elegance and precision. As we mentioned yesterday on Waqt, the second release of the brand the "Catharsis" a unique timepiece made for Only Watch charity auction. Today marks the third release of the brand, the “la danse du temps” which is French for “ the dance of time”, a unique piece 1/1.

"The Dance of Time" comes in an 18k rose gold case, sharing the same diameter as the previously mentioned watch. However, it distinguishes itself with a slight increase in thickness, measuring at 13.10 mm, boosting 50 m of water resistance. This timepiece showcases black-polished and straight-grained bevels. Adding to its bold character, a prominent crown adorned with JCB engravings completes the elegant design.

A sapphire crystal elegantly envelops the sandblasted onyx black dial inspired by the art of paper cutting, surrounded by a framed by a white rail track road. Hand-engraved rose gold skeleton motifs grace the dial, featuring one of Mexico's most iconic symbols, the artistic representations of skulls or skeletons "calaveras." The display is further enhanced by rose gold dauphine hour and minute hands. At 6 o'clock, a flying tourbillon takes its place, encased within a titanium tourbillon cage and a rose gold bridge.

Powering this timepiece is the JCB-001 movement, which was initially introduced in the first release, developed by "Le Cercle des Horlogers," a renowned watch manufacturer based in Val-de-Ruz, Switzerland. Operating at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour (3Hz), with 72 hours of power reserve. What sets this movement apart is its solid platinum micro-rotor that is visible through the transparent sapphire caseback. The watch is paired with a 5-link rose gold bracelet and secured by a rose gold pin buckle.
