Showcasing one of the Maison’s most complicated movements, featuring a Gyrotourbillon
Following the brand’s presentation of the white gold Reverso Hybris Artistica Calibre 179 Gyrotourbillon at Watches and Wonders earlier this year, Jaeger-LeCoultre now unveils a new version in rose gold, one of the Maison’s most technically advanced and visually captivating interpretations within a Reverso case.

Originally introduced in 2023, the Reverso Hybris Artistica Calibre 179 embodies the philosophy of the Hybris collection, uniting the mechanical excellence of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s signature multi-axis tourbillon with intricate artistic craftsmanship carried out by the Manufacture’s artisans. For 2025, Jaeger-LeCoultre reimagines this masterpiece with black hand-lacquered dials on both the front and reverse sides, complemented by a pink gold case. The new timepiece will be produced in a limited edition of 10 pieces.
The 18K pink gold case beautifully merges nostalgic elegance with technical sophistication. Its iconic slide-and-swivel mechanism reveals a richly engraved cradle adorned with a radiating sunray pattern emanating from a central disc of black lacquer. The strong Art Deco lines, expressed through the signature gadroons above and below, enhance the harmonious geometry of the design. Despite its complexity, the case remains refined and comfortable, with an overall thickness of just 13.63 mm and a weight of nearly 30 grams.
Echoing the monochromatic tones of the Art Deco era, the new black and grey palette creates a striking contrast with the pink gold case, bridges, and decorative plates. Featuring Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Duoface concept, this Reverso presents two distinct personalities in one timepiece.
At its heart beats the manually wound Calibre 179, composed of 382 components and offering dual time zones through the Duoface system. On the front dial, subtle geometric motifs recall the Art Deco design language that defined the original Reverso.
The decorative plates and bridges display a fine lattice of pink gold ribs, remnants of the calibre plate’s surface after laser engraving created over 200 recesses filled with lacquer. The black and grey lacquers are then hand-applied between the ribs to achieve the desired colour depth, followed by meticulous hand-polishing to obtain a perfectly smooth, mirror-like finish.
On the reverse dial, black lacquer accentuates the skeletonised hours-minutes ring and its supporting bridges, amplifying the airy architecture and contrasting beautifully with the warm tones of the exposed movement and the soft matte finish of the micro-blasting.
The decoration on the reverse side combines cutting-edge technology and traditional artistry, laser skeletonisation, hand chamfering, and hand-applied lacquer, reaffirming Jaeger-LeCoultre’s mastery of both innovation and heritage. At the centre of this mechanical spectacle lies the Gyrotourbillon, now in its fourth evolution. The multi-axis tourbillon features an ultra-light titanium inner cage and a peripheral carriage, each rotating on different axes, the cage completing a revolution every sixteen seconds, and the peripheral carriage every minute.
Appearing to float between the dials, the flying Gyrotourbillon is free from any visible bridge. Precision is ensured by a semi-spherical balance spring and the Gyrolab balance wheel with its distinctive double-anchor geometry, a testament to the Manufacture’s ongoing pursuit of chronometric excellence.
The inside of the cradle is decorated with a deeply engraved sunray pattern radiating from a black lacquer disc, while the signature gadroons reinforce the Reverso’s timeless Art Deco identity.
The watch is paired with a black alligator leather strap with small-scale lining. Its adjustable and patented folding buckle, crafted in pink gold and comprising 46 meticulously finished components, features a double-wheel system enabling micro-adjustments to the nearest half millimetre, a detail that mirrors the precision and artistry embodied in the movement itself.
