Two Editions Celebrating the Maison’s Iconic Dual-Faced Design
For Watches and Wonders 2025, Jaeger-LeCoultre revisits an iconic Reverso design that dates back to 1994, when the Maison introduced the Reverso Duoface, marking the first time the reverse side of the case was used to host a second dial. More than just a stylistic contrast, this innovation opened new creative possibilities, allowing different functions on each face and transforming the Reverso into a true canvas for both artistic expression and horological ingenuity. Each dial is powered by the same movement, yet the hands rotate in opposite directions, driven by a single mechanism.

This year, the Manufacture unveils two new versions of the Reverso Tribute Duoface Small Seconds, available in pure black or vivid blue. With a redesigned reverse dial, these models pay homage to the colored dials first introduced on Reverso watches in the 1930s.
The new Reverso Tribute Duoface Small Seconds is housed in a stainless steel case, a nod to the earliest Reverso models. Measuring 47 mm x 28.3 mm, with a slim profile of 10.34 mm, the case retains the Reverso’s signature Art Deco proportions.
A single crown is used to set both dials, while the hours for the second time zone are adjusted via a discreet slider embedded in the top case band. The slider remains completely invisible until the case is flipped, ensuring the watch maintains its sleek aesthetic. A finely etched sunray pattern on the carriage’s inner surface enhances the visual delight of reversing the case.
On the front, a sunry-brushed dial in pure black or vivid blue pays tribute to the black dials of the original 1931 Reverso while recalling the early adoption of color in the collection. The main dial features a small seconds register at 6 o’clock, while the reverse side presents a second time zone along with a 24-hour day/night indicator.
The entire reverse dial is unified by a sunray-brushed finish, creating dynamic reflections of silver tones as it catches the light. The elongated indexes, echoing the gadroon lines of the case, serve as a strong visual anchor for the 24-hour subdial at 6 o’clock.
For the blue dial variant, Jaeger-LeCoultre applies a meticulous lacquering technique requiring 24 layers of colored and transparent lacquer. Each layer is carefully applied by hand and left to dry before the next, creating remarkable depth and a rich, permanent hue.
The dial design remains true to the Reverso Tribute aesthetic, with applied elongated indexes replacing numerals, faceted for added dimension and echoing the form of the Dauphine hands. A white railway track surrounds both dials, further enhancing their vintage elegance.
Powering the timepiece is the manually wound Caliber 854, featuring a dual-time zone function. Beating at 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz), it offers a power reserve of 42 hours. The Duoface mechanism employs a second gear train to reverse the rotation of the hands on the verso side, allowing independent time adjustments on both faces. A gear linked to the front minute hand transmits motion to the reverse side, where an additional mechanism enables precise time zone setting.
Each of the two new Reverso Tribute Duoface Small Seconds models comes with two interchangeable straps designed by Casa Fagliano, the renowned Argentinian maker of polo and riding boots. One strap combines leather and canvas, inspired by the canvas-and-leather boots Casa Fagliano produces for summer polo. The other is crafted entirely from calf leather. Both straps are fitted with a stainless steel double-folding clasp.
The Reverso Tribute Duoface Small Seconds priced at Euro 12,300.
