Introducing Jaeger-LeCoultre introduces The new addition to the Polaris Chronograph collection

The 1968 inspired collection gets a lacquered gray dial, and a new integrated chronograph mechanism

Antoine LeCoultre, a skilled watchmaker, founded Jaeger-LeCoultre in 1833. He invented the world's most precise measuring instrument at the time, the million meter, which could measure micrometric components to the micron. This invention laid the foundation for the company's reputation for precision and innovation.

The Polaris Chronograph which was unveiled in 2018

Jaeger-LeCoultre offered watch enthusiasts a chronograph watch that combined the brand's heritage of precision watchmaking, inspired by the 1968 Memovox, making it a notable choice for those seeking a vintage and stylish timekeeping companion. With its debut in 2018, The Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Chronograph marked an addition to the Polaris collection, showcasing a blend of classic design elements and modern functionality.

This year, Jaeger-LeCoultre introduced two identical upgraded versions of its Polaris Chronograph, featuring a blue dial and a new lacquered gray dial, both equipped with an enhanced Chronograph function. The vertically brushed stainless steel case retains its 42mm diameter, polished bezel, pushers, and crown, similar to the previous version. However, it now measures 13.39mm in thickness, slightly thicker than the older version, which had a thickness of 11.9mm.

Its lacquered gray dial exudes sophistication, catching the eye with its gradient effect. The shade seamlessly transitions from dark to light, with an opaline inner bezel, a textured ring for the hours and indexes that are coated with Super-luminova. The dial also features a  sunray-brushed center, and almost 40 layers of varnish followed by colored and transparent lacquer giving the watch a unique character. Instead of the 30-minute and 12-hour chronograph counters in the old version, the new chronograph replaces the 12 hour counter with a running seconds positioned at 9 o'clock, as well as, a new skeletonized baton shaped hands that are coated with Super-Luminova.

Beyond its aesthetics, the New Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Chronograph houses the automatic winding Jaeger-LeCoultre caliber 761, crafted at the brand's workshop in Le Sentier. This movement is equipped with a column-wheel with vertical clutch, offering a power reserve of 65 hours and operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph.

This watch comes with an interchangeable Canvas Beige strap and a black rubber strap, both featuring a stainless steel double folding buckle for the lacquered gray dial, priced at USD 14,300, equivalent to AED 52,500. Meanwhile, the blue dial model offers a choice between a stainless steel bracelet or a black rubber strap with a stainless steel double folding buckle, priced at USD 14,800, which is equivalent to AED 54,300.
