Introducing Jacob & Co. Unveils the Billionaire Double Tourbillon Angel

Celebrating its 40th anniversary, the maison introduces a new diamond-cutting technique

As Jacob & Co. celebrates its 40th anniversary, the House introduces a true innovation, one that embodies its dual mastery. Founder Jacob Arabo has long excelled in two defining fields: high jewelry, with exceptional gem-setting expertise, and high watchmaking, particularly through the art of the tourbillon, which he has elevated in his own distinctive way. Today, these two worlds converge once again as the brand unveils a new diamond cut known as the Angel Cut, a proprietary and patented creation developed entirely in-house.

Since its debut in 2015, the Billionaire collection has represented the outermost frontier of gem-set watchmaking. To introduce this new patented cut, the brand presents the Billionaire Double Tourbillon Angel Cut—the first timepiece ever set with Angel Cut diamonds.

The name of the watch carries deep personal meaning, derived from Angela, the wife of Jacob Arabo. The Angel Cut stands as both a gemological innovation and a tribute to enduring love. It features 37 precisely engineered facets, a number that reflects the couple’s 37 years of marriage. The result is a luminous display with reduced extinction, softer contrast, and a more continuous glow across the surface of the diamond.

The Angel Cut also addresses a longstanding challenge in diamond cutting: balancing optical performance with material preservation. Traditional round brilliant cuts often require significant loss of rough weight to maximize light return, while step cuts preserve yield but may sacrifice vibrancy and fire. The Angel Cut reconciles these opposing demands, adapting efficiently to rectangular rough while maintaining both structural integrity and strong visual performance.

The 54 × 41 mm white gold case is illuminated by 98 Angel Cut diamonds totaling 51.13 carats, many of them unusually large stones—proportions more commonly reserved for centerpiece gems.

This uninterrupted architecture of light extends onto the dial, which features an additional 88 Angel Cut diamonds alongside baguette-cut stones, arranged to frame the twin tourbillon apertures with symmetry and brilliance. In total, the watch is set with 298 white diamonds, totaling approximately 79 carats.

Beneath this radiant surface beats the hand-wound Caliber JCAM50, composed of 460 components and equipped with two flying tourbillons positioned at 12 and 6 o’clock. Their placement creates a harmonious mechanical symmetry that mirrors the visual balance of the gem-setting above. This duality of light and motion lies at the heart of the timepiece. While the dial is fully paved with diamonds, the movement’s skeletonized architecture is revealed through the sapphire caseback, offering an additional layer of transparency and depth. The movement operates at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz) and delivers a power reserve of 72 hours.

The Billionaire Double Tourbillon Angel Cut is paired with a blue alligator leather strap, secured by an 18K white gold deployment buckle, invisibly set with 30 Angel Cut white diamonds (approximately 15.72 carats).

Limited to just 18 pieces, the watch is priced at USD 3.4 million, approximately AED 12.5 million.
