A steel case, a feature rarely seen in Jacob & Co’s luxury timepieces
In 2023, Jacob & Co. introduced The World Is Yours Dual Time Zone as a tribute to the first dual-time watch owned by the brand’s founder, Jacob Arabo, a gift from his father when he was thirteen years old. This piece carried not only an inspiring design but also a profound family legacy. Two years later, the brand unveiled the first evolution of this model, incorporating one of its signature complications, the tourbillon.
In conjunction with Geneva Watch Week 2025, Jacob & Co. unveiled a special edition of its “The World Is Yours Dual Time Zone” watch, created as a tribute to Bollywood icon Salman Khan. Today, we take a closer look at this remarkable timepiece. This edition continues the theme of honoring familial bonds, drawing inspiration from another father-son story. Just as Jacob Arabo received his first dual-time watch from his father, this model pays homage to Salman Khan’s father, the legendary Indian screenwriter Salim Khan.
Salman Khan and Jacob Arabo have shared a long-standing friendship, with Khan frequently seen wearing Jacob & Co. timepieces such as the Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon. Now, the two have collaborated on a special edition inspired by the Indian flag. A stainless steel case, a rarity in Jacob & Co.’s portfolio, was chosen to keep the price point accessible. While the Epic X is among the few well-known steel models from the brand, this new edition justifies its lower price when compared to the gold version, which retails for nearly ten times more.
This special edition retains the dimensions of the original, housed in a polished stainless steel case measuring 43mm in diameter and 14mm in thickness, powered by the same base movement. The caseback features a laser-engraved world map alongside a custom engraving that reads "Salman Khan.” Water resistance is rated at 30 meters.
The crown operates in three positions: manual winding, time zone adjustment for the 6 o’clock sub-dial, and time setting for the 12 o’clock display.
The domed dial evokes a view of Earth from above, with a depiction of the Western Hemisphere. Inspired by the Indian flag, the dial is crafted from blue PVD-coated titanium, intricately engraved with rose gold-finished continents. A compass rose at the center displays the small seconds in an unconventional manner. The dual sub-dials showcase two time zones, orange Roman numerals at 12 o’clock and green Arabic numerals at 6 o’clock, where Salman Khan's initials, "S.K.," replace the numeral 30. Both color accents are drawn directly from the Indian flag.
The curvature of the dial required the hands to be angled at 12 degrees for optimal readability. These hands are rose gold-plated, adding a refined touch.
Inside, the watch is powered by the automatic JCAA14 caliber, developed with Concepto. It features a central rotor, delivers a 42-hour power reserve, and beats at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz). Its independently adjustable dual time zone function is particularly useful for global travelers, especially those navigating non-standard offsets like India’s GMT+5:30.
Completing the piece is a blue alligator leather strap with a stainless steel pin buckle. Each timepiece is individually numbered and presented in a custom turquoise box. This special edition is priced at USD 34,000 approximately AED 125,000.
