Introducing Breguet Refreshes the Tradition Collection with a Modern Touch

A new gold variant elevates the women’s collection
Though widely known for its bold Pilot’s watches like the Big Pilot and technically advanced Portugieser models, IWC also embraces a more classical side with the Portofino collection. Since its debut in 1984, the line has been the brand’s expression of elegance, offering refined silhouettes across complications such as Moon Phase and Chronograph. This year, IWC expands the collection with the Portofino Automatic 34 Day & Night in gold after it was released in steel last year.
The watch comes in a 34mm case crafted from 18k 5N gold, maintaining a graceful profile at just 8.9mm thick. It retains the collection’s minimalist charm with a smooth polished bezel, straight lugs, and a fluted crown. Unlike previous gold variants with diamond-set bezels, this model opts for the cleaner aesthetic seen in the steel version. The case is fitted with a solid gold caseback, secured by four screws. It is topped by a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides and offers a water resistance of 50 meters.
The silver-plated dial features applied gold-plated leaf hands, baton hour markers, and a Roman numeral at 12 o’clock. A dotted minute track encircles the dial, punctuated by twelve brilliant-cut diamonds. The highlight is the Day & Night indicator at 6 o’clock, framed in gold and adorned with a rotating sun-and-moon disc set against a starry backdrop.

Powering the watch is the IWC Caliber 35180, an automatic movement based on the Sellita SW300-1. It runs at 28,800 vph (4 Hz) and offers a 50-hour power reserve. The timepiece is paired with a taupe calfskin leather strap, equipped with a quick-change system and secured by an 18k 5N gold butterfly folding clasp. The watch joins the permanent collection at a price of EUR 17,500, equivalent to AED 62,500.
