Introducing IWC Expands the Pilot’s Chronograph 41 with the New TOP GUN Miramar Edition

IWC Schaffhausen expands its Colors of TOP GUN collection with the introduction of the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 TOP GUN Miramar. This latest release debuts a new ceramic hue named after the iconic Miramar naval air station, accompanied by a permanent stainless steel edition that shares the same distinctive blue dial, a shade inspired by the light blue T-shirts worn by TOPGUN instructors beneath their flight suits. These instructors, having undergone rigorous selection and intensive training, are among the world’s most skilled pilots.

Building on its extensive expertise in ceramic case manufacturing, IWC offers ceramic watches within its "TOP GUN" collection in a range of colors inspired by the world of naval aviation, developed in collaboration with Pantone. The current colors include the sand-colored "Mojave Desert," the white "Lake Tahoe," and the green ceramic "Woodland" edition, while the brand now introduces the new "TOP GUN Miramar" in blue.

Both versions feature a 41.9 mm case, offered in either blue ceramic or stainless steel. However, the thickness varies: the ceramic model measures 15.5 mm, while the stainless steel edition is slightly slimmer at 14.5 mm. Both versions are equipped with a screw-in crown and offer 100 meters of water resistance.

The stainless steel version features a sapphire caseback, revealing the movement within, whereas the ceramic model has a titanium caseback engraved with the iconic “TOP GUN” logo. Additionally, the ceramic version incorporates a soft-iron inner case for enhanced protection against magnetic fields.

The dial showcases a striking blue hue, with subtle differences distinguishing the two editions: the ceramic model features blue hands coated with Super-LumiNova, while the steel version opts for rhodium-plated hands. Both share the same layout, with snailed subdials enhancing legibility: a 30-minute counter at 12 o’clock, a 12-hour counter at 9 o’clock, a day-date display at 3 o’clock, and small seconds at 6 o’clock.

Powering both models is an automatic chronograph movement from IWC’s 69000 calibre family: the 69385 calibre for the stainless steel version, and the 69380 calibre for the ceramic edition. Both movements share core features, including a column-wheel mechanism, a 46-hour power reserve, a frequency of 4 Hz, and robust construction comprising 242 components.

Both versions are fitted with a supple Miramar blue rubber strap secured by a titanium folding clasp. The blue ceramic TOP GUN Miramar is limited to 1,000 pieces, while the stainless steel version joins the brand’s permanent collection.

The blue ceramic version is priced at USD 13,500 approximately AED 49,600, while the stainless steel edition is priced at USD 7,200 around AED 26,500.
