According to Oris, a laser technique that's novel in watchmaking has been used to create a dial that changes colors as it catches light at different angles. Oris describes the treatment as using surface manipulation that splits the light into its component parts to create a rainbow effect depending on where you view the watch from.
Future Calibers and Complications:
Mr. Studer touched upon the rapid release of new calibers, promising more complications and innovations in the future. While there is no plan for a micro-rotor movement currently, he hinted at continuous exploration.
Manual Winding Watches:
The success of the Caliber 473 in manual winding watches has inspired Oris to incorporate this movement into more timepieces, demonstrating the brand's responsiveness to customer preferences.
Precious Metal Editions:
Discussing the 18k gold version of the Oris Big Crown Wings of Hope edition, Mr. Studer noted its success, attributing it to its limited edition and charitable cause.
Aquis Collection:
On the Aquis collection, Mr. Studer remained tight-lipped about future materials but emphasized Oris's intensive exploration of innovative materials.
In-House Movement Production:
Mr. Studer clarified that while Oris designs and engineers the Caliber 400, the parts are manufactured by specialized companies, a common practice in the Swiss watch industry.
Middle East Initiatives:
Addressing potential initiatives in the Middle East, Mr. Studer expressed openness to projects aligning with Oris's message and DNA, emphasizing the importance of meaningful collaborations.
In conclusion, Mr. Studer's insights provide a glimpse into the dynamic future of Oris, where innovation, accessibility, and strategic partnerships continue to be key pillars of the brand's success.
