A Design Inspired by the Arabian Desert’s Dunes, Featuring a Nano-Engineered Dial
To celebrate the 75th anniversary of Seddiqi, the leading curator of fine timepieces in the Middle East, ID Genève presents the MorphoDune 75th, a limited-edition watch that fuses Swiss watchmaking precision with the timeless poetry of the Arabian desert. Limited to just 20 numbered pieces, this unique edition embodies shared values of creative excellence, heritage, and sustainability.
The design evokes the fluid movement of dunes shaped by the desert wind, blending nature’s grace with cutting-edge nanotechnology. Developed in collaboration with Morphotonix, a Swiss start-up pioneering nanoprinting technology, the MorphoDune transforms microscopic optical engineering into art. Known for their patented ink-free process used in securing Swiss banknotes and passports, Morphotonix™ brings its expertise in nano-engraving to watchmaking for the first time. Using light alone, the company imprints intricate holographic structures directly onto the metal dial, creating natural iridescence without pigments or coatings. The result is a richly textured surface that shifts with every movement, a living reflection of the desert under the sun.
The 37 mm case, made from 100% reprocessed 316L stainless steel, balances strength, elegance, and sustainability. At just 8.8 mm thick, it sits gracefully on the wrist.

A delicate touch of spiritual blue, a color deeply rooted in Arabic culture, discreetly accents the piece, symbolizing peace and protection. This is a respectful nod to cultural heritage, bridging tradition and modernity.
The dial, co-developed with Morphotonix, features nano-engraved holographic structures that shimmer without ink or pigment, capturing the ephemeral patterns of desert dunes under sunlight. Blue luminescent Arabic numerals and hour markers evoke starlit skies over shifting sands. Crafted at the nanoscale, the dial presents undulating motifs inspired by desert waves, subtly interlaced with geometric patterns reminiscent of Arabic art. Depending on the angle, metallic tones reveal a spectrum of rainbow reflections that recall sand’s natural luminosity. Arabic numerals rise in relief, softly illuminated by luminescent SLN highlights that echo the night sky above the dunes.
Assembled in Geneva by master watchmaker Cedric Mulhauser, the MorphoDune 75th runs on a refurbished Swiss ETA 2892 movement, underscoring ID Genève’s commitment to circular craftsmanship. Each component is traceable, Swiss-made, and designed to last. It beats at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz) and offers a power reserve of 42 hours.
The integrated steel bracelet, entirely handmade in Le Locle, plays with light through semi-elliptical links that evoke rolling waves of sand. It is secured with a triple-fold deployant clasp in reprocessed stainless steel.
This limited edition of just 20 pieces is available exclusively at Ahmed Seddiqi boutiques. Priced at 4,820 CHF.
