Introducing Breguet Refreshes the Tradition Collection with a Modern Touch
Welcome to the hub of the horoloy
The brand breaks conventions with a concrete case in tribute to New York City
Hublot’s legacy with avant-garde materials is a journey marked by bold experimentation and relentless innovation. Yet, the brand shows no signs of slowing down. In fact, it continues to surprise by incorporating materials that few would ever expect to find in haute horlogerie like concrete. Once a symbol of Brutalist architecture and large-scale infrastructure, concrete has been reimagined by artists, architects, and designers into a medium that is refined, expressive, and now thanks to Hublot a part of watchmaking.
With the new Big Bang MECA-10 Concrete Jungle, Hublot transforms this iconic urban material into a bold expression of contemporary horology. This timepiece pays tribute to New York City’s skyline, street culture, and resilient spirit.
Unveiled to celebrate both the 20th anniversary of the Big Bang collection and the opening of Hublot’s new Fifth Avenue flagship boutique, the Big Bang MECA-10 Concrete Jungle marks the third installment in the Concrete Jungle series, following editions released in 2016 and 2020.
This striking 44mm special edition is encased entirely in matte concrete, an unexpected yet perfectly executed material that showcases Hublot’s signature mastery of form and fusion. The case is accented with H-shaped screws in polished and micro-blasted titanium, and paired with a matching titanium caseback and a satin-finished crown overmolded with black rubber. Measuring 15.3mm thick and offering 50 meters of water resistance.
The skeletonized dial reveals a monochromatic palette with grey-toned elements that complement the concrete case. The dial layout includes a small seconds display at 9 o’clock, a visible balance wheel at 7 o’clock, and a rack system at 12 o’clock, a hallmark feature of the MECA-10 movement. The power reserve indicator at 3 o’clock is redesigned with a linear gear rack for enhanced visual clarity and dynamic interaction.
At its heart, the timepiece is powered by the in-house MECA-10 caliber HUB1201. This manual-winding movement features a 10-day power reserve, achieved through its dual mainspring barrels. Comprising 223 components and 24 jewels, it operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz). The movement’s skeletonized architecture, with its exposed gear trains and bridges, reflects Hublot’s "Art of Fusion" philosophy. A rack-and-pinion power reserve indicator, with a red marker, provides a clear and dynamic visual representation of the remaining energy.
The Concrete Jungle MECA-10 is delivered with two interchangeable straps: a grey fabric strap with Velcro fastening, and Hublot’s signature black lined rubber. Both can be easily swapped thanks to the brand’s “One Click” system. A black-plated titanium deployant clasp and a micro-blasted black ceramic buckle ensure a secure and stylish fit.
Each timepiece is presented in a unique Hublot Green box, featuring a stylized rendering of the New York City skyline, exclusive to this edition. The watch is priced at USD 34,100, approximately AED 125,250.
