Gerald Charles, the independent Swiss watchmaking Maison founded by the great Mr. Gérald Charles Genta, unveils its most complicated watch since its reestablishment less than a decade ago. The Masterlink Perpetual Calendar, developed entirely in-house, marks a new chapter for the young and ambitious Maison as it continues to expand its repertoire of poetic complications.

In keeping with Gerald Charles’s “No Compromise” watchmaking philosophy, established by Mr. Genta more than a quarter of a century ago, the Masterlink Perpetual Calendar introduces an in-house, asymmetrical, automatic perpetual calendar calibre with a three-counter display.

Hublot is known for its innovative designs and distinctive approach to horology. Renowned primarily for its bold wristwatches that blend tradition with cutting-edge technology, Hublot is not typically a brand associated with pocket watches. However, this perception changes with their latest collaboration with contemporary artist Daniel Arsham. Together, they have introduced the Arsham Droplet, a limited edition timepiece that reimagines the classic pocket watch and blends antique form with futuristic materials.

For those unfamiliar with Daniel Arsham, he is a New York-based artist whose practice spans fine art, architecture, performance, and film. Arsham’s iconic works seamlessly meld the past, present, and future, a characteristic vividly demonstrated in this watch.

Inspired by the organic, fluid forms found in nature, the Arsham Droplet represents a milestone in the world of horology. Crafted from a blend of titanium, rubber, and sapphire crystal, the Arsham Droplet measures 73.2mm x 52.6mm x 22.5mm. Its organic design is complemented by a titanium case and rubber bumpers.

The watch features a sandwich construction with two crafted domed teardrop-shaped sapphire crystals and an open-worked dial with a varnished Arsham Green hue, a power reserve indicator at 6 o’clock, and a small seconds sub-dial at 9 o’clock. The case boasts a double sealing system with 17 O-ring seals, ensuring a perfect seal. Additionally, the timepiece displays Hublot's iconic design elements, including the brand's signature six H-shaped screws.

Presented with two titanium chains featuring Hublot’s patented double "one-click" system for easy attachment, the timepiece offers versatile wearability, from a necklace to a pocket watch, or as a sculptural centerpiece on its decorative titanium and mineral glass table stand.

The watch is powered by HUB1201 Manufacture MECA-10 manual winding movement, operating at 21,600 vph (3Hz), and offers 10 days of power reserve (240 hours). It is limited to 99 pieces and pieces at CHF 80,000, which is equivalent to AED 330,500.
