A limited edition in collaboration with the British dial artist Chris Alexander
Holthinrichs Watches was founded in 2016 by Dutch architect Michiel Holthinrichs. Based in Delft, the brand follows a path that blends modern innovation with classical hand artistry, combining advanced 3D-printing techniques with traditional finishing. In its latest release, the brand presents the Signature Ornament LAB Series 1.24, featuring a striking dial created in collaboration with the British dial artist Chris Alexander.
The watch is housed in a 3D-printed grade 5 titanium case measuring 38.5 mm in diameter, 9.85 mm in thickness, and 46 mm lug-to-lug. The case weighs only 37.7 grams without the strap. Produced using selective laser melting technology, each case requires up to 48 hours to print, with only 45 cases fitting on a single build plate. Following printing, the case undergoes precise milling and extensive hand finishing.

Its openworked lugs appear to float around the case body, adding an architectural curve that enhances the watch’s sculptural appeal. A sapphire crystal is fitted on both the front and back.

The dial begins as a solid brass disc in Delft and undergoes a multi-stage patina process involving electrolysis and heat treatment, resulting in a textured copper oxide surface with deep green tones. It is then sent to Scotland, where Chris Alexander hand-applies 24-carat gold leaf, layer by layer, creating subtle variations that make each dial unique. Back in Delft, the dial is finished, indices placed on the inner flange, and openworked hands that are bevelled and brushed.
Inside beats a modified Sellita SW300 automatic movement, running at 28,800 vph (4 Hz) with a power reserve of 42 hours. Its standout feature is the handcrafted rotor, treated with acid and heat to produce a patinated finish in blue and purple tones.

The watch is paired with a cognac-toned strap made from rooster leg leather and secured by a 3D-printed titanium buckle. Limited to 79 pieces, symbolically referencing the atomic number of gold in the periodic table, it is priced at €5,900 (approx. AED 25,350), with deliveries expected before the end of 2025.
