IWC adds the first Big Pilot watch with the EasX-Change system, with a striking green dial.
In March of this year at the 2023 Geneva Watches and Wonders Exhibition, we all saw the uproar that was resounding in the world of luxury watches. We are talking here about the renowned brand (IWC). We witnessed the relaunch and release of Ingenieur watches by its famous designer, Gerald Genta, which swept the Geneva Watches and Wonder Show with four different versions, and one of these versions was titanium.
IWC has announced a collection of amazing watches. Such as the new Top Gun Chronograph 41 with a charming black and blue design, but it is necessary to stress that the brand has also launched several other pilot watches. One of them has a cool and attractive design, with green enamel.

IWC introduces the exceptional Big Pilot Perpetual Calendar Green, known as the reference IW503608, which incorporates a new color change into the updated BP Perpetual model launched for the first time in 2021. It featured a charming blue dial, a solid steel case and an elegant blue leather strap. And now, the green version, reinforcing the brand's commitment to pushing the boundaries of excellence, in line with what it has done previously with the "BP43" watch and the two elegant green Portugieser.

The new Big Pilot Perpetual Calendar IW503608 retains the same design elements as the blue edition, without any significant updates. Its stainless steel case is noteworthy, measuring 46.2mm in diameter and 15.4mm in thickness, and follows the established formula of the Big Pilot's Watch. The case features predominantly brushed finishing, with polished accents limited to the conical bezel and caseback. Enhancing its aesthetic appeal is a large onion-shaped crown. Both the crown and caseback are screw-secured, ensuring a water-resistance rating of 60 meters.

The primary update found in the new Big Pilot Perpetual Calendar IW503608 is centered around its dial, specifically its color. The dial features a dark green hue with a sunray-brushed effect, drawing inspiration from the design language of last year's green BP43 model. Similar to the blue BP Perpetual, this watch incorporates applied markers and rhodium-plated hands that are generously filled with luminous material, ensuring excellent legibility day and night, a crucial aspect of this collection. The display maintains a classic style and is based on the QP (Quantième Perpétuel) module developed by Kurt Klaus. The central part of the dial indicates the time, while four subdials are positioned at different locations: the moon phase (for both northern and southern hemispheres) at 12 o'clock, the date and power reserve at 3 o'clock, the month at 6 o'clock, and the weekday and small seconds at 9 o'clock. Additionally, a four-digit year indication can be found at the 7 o'clock position.

Beneath the sapphire back of the watch is the impressive in-house calibre 52615, an automatic movement known for its size and power. It features two barrels and offers an impressive 7-day power reserve. The new Green BP Perpetual model is accompanied by a green rubber strap that perfectly matches the watch's color. The strap is adorned with steel rivets and secured by a folding clasp. Additionally, the watch incorporates the brand's convenient EasX-CHANGE system, allowing for effortless strap switching. Notably, this marks the first time the innovative interchangeability feature is introduced to the Big Pilot collection, which accommodates a 22mm lug width, potentially paving the way for future developments. However, it is important to note that, currently, the green rubber strap is the only option available for this watch.
