Introducing Hermès Unveils the H08 Chronograph “Jaune de Naples”

A Sporty Design Combining Advanced Materials and French Elegance

Hermès expands its contemporary H08 collection with a bold and high-performance timepiece: the new H08 Chronograph “Jaune de Naples.” This latest iteration introduces a chronograph function to the line, continuing the H08’s mission to bridge technical precision with refined design. The vivid yellow accents inject a fresh, sporty energy into the collection. Following the recent expansion of the time-and-date H08 models, the new chronograph marks another milestone for the French maison, and brings a larger, more dynamic presence to its catalogue.

The case continues the collection’s field-inspired aesthetic, crafted from a carbon fiber composite coated with graphene powder. An impressive total of 176 thin carbon fiber sheets are layered and compressed to form a strong yet lightweight structure. The cushion-shaped case reveals a subtle wood-grain texture once carved, while a sunburst-brushed titanium bezel with mirror-polished chamfers provides a refined contrast. Completing the case is a black PVD-coated titanium crown with an integrated chronograph actuator accented by a yellow ring.

Slightly larger than its time-and-date sibling, the case measures 41 mm in diameter and 45 mm lug-to-lug, compared to the original’s 39 mm by 42 mm. Despite the addition of chronograph functionality, the watch maintains an impressive 100-meter water resistance.

As a monopusher chronograph, all chronograph functions — start, stop, and reset, are operated via a single pusher integrated into the crown. This design choice preserves the clean, geometric lines of the H08 case without adding extra protrusions, maintaining the model’s signature balance and symmetry.

The dial features a black gold-treated surface with rhodium-plated applied Arabic numerals coated in Super-LumiNova. Yellow accents appear on the small seconds hand at 3 o’clock and the chronograph minute hand at 9 o’clock, adding dynamic contrast to the otherwise dark palette. The hour and minute hands, finished in black gold and filled with Super-LumiNova, ensure excellent legibility.

Powering the H08 Chronograph is the Hermès Caliber H1837, a 3.7 mm-thick automatic movement manufactured by Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier, in which Hermès holds a 25% stake. The “H” denotes Hermès, while “1837” references the year of the maison’s founding. Used across several Hermès models, the caliber here is paired with a Dubois Dépraz chronograph module. It beats at 28,800 vph (4 Hz) and features double barrels, offering a 46-hour power reserve, slightly reduced from the base model’s 50 hours due to the added chronograph complication.

The Hermès H08 Chronograph “Jaune de Naples” is paired with a yellow rubber strap secured by a black DLC-coated titanium folding clasp. The watch is not a limited edition and is priced at EUR 12,000 (approximately AED 51,200).
