Introducing The New Zenith Chronomaster Original Triple Calendar
Welcome to the hub of the horoloy
A special edition inspired by the iconic HL series
Founded in 2004 in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, Hautlence is known for its contemporary approach to watchmaking characterized by inventive designs. Distinguishing itself with the iconic retro TV-screen-shaped case and the integrated design that eliminates visible lugs, as seen in the Vagabonde Tourbillon Series 3.
Two decades ago, Hautlence introduced the original HL movement housed within a TV-shaped case, featuring a jumping hours disk and a retrograde minutes hand. Now, Hautlence is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a limited edition of 20 pieces, the HLXX, a timepiece that revamps both the iconic TV-shaped case and the dial of its predecessor.
Crafted from brushed and polished grade 5 titanium, the HLXX's case dimensions measure 37.0 x 45.0 x 11.75 mm (10.5 mm excluding the sapphire crystal). Embracing a sleeker aesthetic, the case eschews visible lugs and instead incorporates a quick-release system for the strap seamlessly integrated onto the case back.
The HLXX adopts a deconstructed approach to timekeeping, allocating separate sections on the watch’s brass semi openworked dial for hours and minutes. These sections feature a silvery rhodium color and vertical brushed surface, each marking the passage of time in distinct ways. The dial includes a sub-dial on the left-hand side, showcasing the jumping hours displayed by a mechanism where a sapphire disc rotates every hour, including a fixed tinted sapphire crystal disk with Arabic hour numerals in Super-LumiNova, displaying the current hour on a jumping hour disk. The top disk with concentric lines draws inspiration from the key design element of Hautlence's recent Vagabonde series.
The dial presents a lever system that connects the retrograde minutes hand and jumping-hour indication. Situated on the bottom-right side is the retrograde minutes hand, which resets to zero every 60 minutes. The passage of time is depicted by a rotating Hautlence logo, also serving as a small seconds indication.
Through the sapphire case back, you can see the hand-wound caliber A20, which operates at 21,600vph (3Hz) and offers 40 hours of power reserve. The watch comes with a black integrated rubber strap with a titanium deployant buckle and is equipped with a quick-adjustment mechanism, facilitating effortless strap changes to the black rubber cordura-effect strap without the need for any tools.
