A Purple Dial Created in Collaboration with the German Magazine Armbanduhren
Since its launch in August 2024, the Preventor HD12 has been a watch designed by Hanhart to set new standards in robustness and everyday suitability. It has quickly established itself as one of the German brand’s bestsellers.
Now, in collaboration with the specialist magazine ARM BANDUHREN, Hanhart presents an exclusive special edition distinguished by its deep, silky purple dial. The “Silk Purple” introduces a bold, modern color to the collection.
With its balanced proportions 39 millimetres in diameter, 10.5 millimetres in height, and 46 millimetres lug-to-lug, the case combines robustness with elegance and harmonious design.
The solid screw-down case of the Preventor HD12™ is water-resistant to 150 metres, making it ideal for daily wear and aquatic activities. It is crafted from Hanhart’s newly developed HD12 steel, in which carbon is diffused into stainless steel through a multi-stage hardening process. This creates a gradual transition from a tougher core to a hardened surface.
The case is further enhanced with a transparent PVD coating, increasing resistance to scratches. The HD12™ steel achieves an impressive surface hardness of 1200 HV on the Vickers scale, over five times that of conventional 316L stainless steel, which measures around 220 HV. For comparison, the scratch-resistant, convex sapphire crystal of the watch has a hardness of approximately 2000 HV.
The distinctive purple dial makes the Preventor HD12 an eye-catching yet stylish outdoor watch, standing out from the existing dark blue and black editions. The matte deep-purple background contrasts perfectly with the white-printed Arabic numerals, overlaid with luminescent Super-LumiNova C1, which glows green in the dark. The same luminous material is applied to the skeletonized hour and minute hands, inspired by military pocket watches. Even the delicate seconds hand, with its red-lacquered tip and counterweight, features a luminous coating.
Powering the Preventor HD12 is either the Sellita SW200-1 or the Soprod P024 caliber. Both automatic movements beat at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vph) and feature a stop-seconds mechanism for precise time setting. The rotor, decorated with the Hanhart signature, ensures a reliable power reserve of up to 38 hours.

The “Silk Purple” edition comes on a solid stainless steel bracelet with a folding clasp engraved with the historic Hanhart logo. To improve scratch resistance, the bracelet is also treated with the transparent PVD coating. A practical, fold-out extension hidden inside the clasp, reminiscent of a diver’s watch allows the bracelet to be loosened quickly by around one centimetre for added comfort.
Limited to 200 pieces, with 150 reserved for the German market, the Hanhart Preventor HD12 Silk Purple is priced at EUR 1,295 which is equivalent to approximately AED 6,950.
