Introducing Hanhart Unveils the 415 ES Chronograph

Hanhart’s legacy stretches over a century, yet its commitment to craftsmanship and precision remains as strong as ever. As a family-owned independent German brand, Hanhart handles everything from design to distribution, ensuring that each timepiece upholds the highest standards of quality and innovation.

One of the brand’s standout moments came in the mid-1960s with the introduction of the 415 ES Chronograph. This was the first Hanhart watch to feature a bidirectional rotating bezel with 60-minute graduations, a pioneering design that set the tone for many chronographs to follow. Over the years, the 415 ES Chronograph has been reimagined in various dial styles, but one particular version stood out to the Hanhart team. Now, this iconic design has been brought back to life, carefully reworked with modern manufacturing techniques and the latest materials. 

With its latest edition, Hanhart has reimagined the iconic 415 ES in a historically faithful 39 mm case, capturing the essence of the original 1960s design. The 13.5 mm-thick case is crafted from stainless steel, with the “ES” in the watch’s name signifying the German term Edelstahl (stainless steel). A fluted bezel featuring a black ceramic inlay rotates bidirectionally with 60 clicks. The case features a mix of brushed and polished finishes, a high-domed sapphire crystal, treated with internal anti-reflective coating, and a screwed case back.

The classic black dial is adorned with Hanhart’s historic wing logo. It is framed by a tachymeter scale and a striking red hundredths scale, representing an industrial minute with 100 seconds. The dial features numerals and hands coated in Super-LumiNova for enhanced visibility, along with a 30-minute chronograph counter at 3 o’clock and a small seconds sub-dial at 9 o’clock.

Powering the watch is the hand-wound Sellita SW510 movement, operating at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz) and offering 58-hours of power reserve. Each movement is tested and adjusted at the Hanhart manufactory to ensure an accuracy rate of 0 to +8 seconds per day. 

The watch is paired with a choice of black, dark brown, or light brown calfskin leather straps, featuring Alcantara lining on the inside and secured with a stainless steel pin buckle. Now part of Hanhart’s permanent collection, it is priced at EUR 2,390, approximately AED 9,200.
