A Salmon Dial Inspired by One of the Grönefeld Brothers’ Most Iconic Watches
Grøne introduces the Moment Meter, marking an entirely new chapter in its journey as the Grönefeld brothers move toward a bolder design direction with a hand-wound chronograph. Despite this fresh approach, the brothers’ aesthetic identity remains unmistakable in every detail. The Moment Meter stands as a meticulous study in dial architecture and movement finishing, crafted with the same artisanal spirit that defines their atelier work.
The case is an evolution of the brothers’ iconic 1941 design, measuring 39 mm in diameter and 12 mm in height. It has undergone extensive engineering refinement and prototyping to achieve one of the thinnest cases possible for this type of movement. The three-part case construction features fully polished surfaces paired with brushed flanks, and for the first time, it is offered with a sapphire caseback.
The salmon, multi-layered dial of the Moment Meter showcases a sunray finish, complemented by applied steel indices inspired by those found on the brothers’ atelier timepieces.
The left and right subdials sit on raised concave and convex platforms, adding depth and visual dimension. Each features diamond-cut polished edges and circular graining on rhodium-plated surfaces. Blued hands display the time, while orange hands mark the chronograph functions, giving the watch a bold and contemporary color palette. Encircling the dial is a precisely printed pulsometer calibrated for 15 beats, enabling the wearer to measure heart rate directly from the wrist.
The watch is powered by a hand-wound chronograph movement developed in collaboration with La Joux-Perret, featuring rhodium-treated components in an anthracite tone, along with gold engravings visible through the sapphire caseback framed by Grøne’s signature orange gasket. The movement is based on the renowned Valjoux 7750 architecture, now upgraded with a column wheel and an enhanced 60-hour power reserve.
The Moment Meter is fitted with a blue sailcloth strap fastened by a stainless-steel pin buckle. It is priced at EUR 3,490 (approximately AED 14,800 excluding taxes, duties, and shipping) and is limited to 300 pieces, with no future reproduction.
