A pilot’s watch that combines the brand’s heritage with its latest technical innovations
Since its founding, Bremont has been closely associated with the world of aviation. At the beginning of this year, the British brand unveiled the new Altitude collection, marking the start of a new era in its design language. The collection includes three models, among which the Chronograph GMT stands outة a timepiece that combines the two complications most essential to pilots: the chronograph and the GMT function.
Today, we take a closer look at the most complex watch in the collection, the Chronograph GMT, which represents the pinnacle of Bremont’s pilot watches, blending exceptional durability with the practical functions of a chronograph and a GMT.
The watch is housed in Bremont’s signature Trip-Tick case, measuring 42 mm in diameter and crafted from corrosion-resistant 904L stainless steel, with a tonneau-shaped central barrel coated in ultra-hard black DLC. Despite its 14.7 mm thickness, Bremont has developed an intelligent ergonomic solution that ensures the watch sits comfortably on the wrist. The distinctive Trip-Tick construction, composed of an upper bezel, a central case barrel, and a caseback, now features a slimmer profile and a shorter lug-to-lug distance for improved wearability.
Developed in the mid-2000s, the Trip-Tick case embodies Bremont’s engineering-driven philosophy. Founded by brothers Nick and Giles English, the design draws inspiration from their aviation background and their pursuit of extreme durability. Over the years, Bremont has refined this construction with advanced machining and reinforced materials, turning it into a hallmark of the brand and a modern symbol of British watchmaking strength.
The silver-brushed dial offers clarity and sophistication inspired by aircraft cockpits, featuring applied Super-LumiNova numerals and markers, along with recessed chronograph counters. The red-tipped GMT hand indicates a second time zone on a 24-hour day/night scale, while the small seconds subdial at 9 o’clock takes the form of a tri-blade propeller, a subtle nod to a Bremont military project.
The Bremont logo has been repositioned from 12 o’clock to 3 o’clock, reinforcing the professional pilot’s chronograph identity. The subdials are arranged vertically, with a 30-minute counter at 12 o’clock and a 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock, which also integrates a date window on a white background with black Arabic numerals.
Turning the watch over reveals a transparent caseback that maintains anti-magnetic protection thanks to a soft iron ring surrounding the movement, following Faraday cage principles. Inside beats the BC781-AC automatic calibre, chronometer-certified and based on the Sellita SW500, operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour and providing a 62-hour power reserve. It features a quick-set date, hacking seconds, and an independently adjustable GMT hand.
The movement is suspended within a flexible rubber mount to absorb shocks and minimize impacts, ensuring precision and reliability even in the harshest environments. For this generation, Bremont also introduces a new 904L stainless steel bracelet with a brushed and polished finish, featuring a quick-release mechanism and curved links for enhanced flexibility and wrist comfort.
The Bremont Altitude Chronograph GMT is priced at GBP 5,750, which is approximately AED 26,800.
