An elegant pink gold version and a high-tech carbon and silicium composite case
Girard-Perregaux unveils two new versions of the striking Neo Constant Escapement: one rendered in pink gold, and a second housed in a high-tech composite case forged from carbon and silicium—materials that perfectly embody refinement, lightness, and cutting-edge technology.
The story of this innovative design dates back to 2008, when Girard-Perregaux first introduced a concept watch featuring the groundbreaking silicium blade. This pioneering technology was refined over the years, culminating in the Constant Escapement L.M., a timepiece awarded the prestigious Aiguille d’Or at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève in 2013. In 2023, the Maison unveiled a titanium version of this highly complicated watch, and today, the Neo Constant Escapement returns in two contrasting interpretations: a luxurious pink gold edition and a sportier execution in carbon and silicium.
The concept behind the silicium blade was born during a train journey. An inventive watchmaker, holding a train ticket between his fingers, observed that when flexed, the ticket adopted a ‘C’ shape and became unstable. Applying lateral pressure allowed the ticket to store energy uniformly until it reached a point of instability, at which moment it snapped back into an inverted ‘C’ shape. This transition from compression to bending forms the fundamental principle of the Constant Escapement.

Housed in a sumptuous 45 mm pink gold case, this reference radiates preciousness and refinement from every angle. Despite its noble material, the watch remains resolutely forward-looking. Beneath the pink gold Neo bridges at the base of the dial, the balance wheel can be admired oscillating rhythmically. The silicium blade, executed in a vivid purple hue, measures a mere 14 microns in width, while the escapement spring is just 120 microns thick—by comparison, a human hair measures between 50 and 90 microns. These infinitesimal dimensions highlight the extreme tolerances the Manufacture masters on a daily basis.
The skeletonised gold hour and minute hands, redesigned specifically for the pink gold version, are filled with luminescent material to enhance legibility. Meanwhile, the refined flange and indexes add an extra layer of sophistication. Girard-Perregaux has also introduced a new combination of case finishes, creating a captivating dialogue with light. Faithful to the Maison’s traditions, particular attention has been paid to the holding plate, now adorned with gold markings. Completing the front-facing composition, the GP logo appears in golden tones—an entirely fitting detail for such a noble creation.
The second version of the Neo Constant Escapement represents a bold expression of exclusivity and contemporary luxury. Produced as an ultra-limited edition of just two numbered pieces, this model is housed in a highly technical composite case made from carbon and silicium—a material so complex to manufacture that it remains a rarity in haute horlogerie. Measuring 45.35 mm in diameter and 14.80 mm in thickness, the case is marginally larger to optimise the material’s properties.
Composed of powdered carbon, silicium carbide, and silicium, the high-tech case is exceptionally hard yet remarkably light, with a mass approximately half that of titanium. Visually, it exudes a bold, modern character through its stealthy black and grey tones, textured surface, and subtle flecks that interact delicately with light. Beyond its striking aesthetics, this composite case offers outstanding resistance to scratches, corrosion, and thermal shock.
Both models are powered by the COSC-certified Calibre GP09200, a fully in-house movement representing over 20 years of research and development. The calibre is protected by 15 patents—two of which are pending—and is the result of extensive testing of dozens of silicium escapement springs to achieve the ideal geometry.
One notable distinction in this limited composite version is the silicium blade, which appears here in green. This hue is not applied artificially, but rather emerges naturally and unpredictably during the fabrication process, making each blade subtly unique.

On the caseback, adjacent to the crown, crafted in black DLC-treated titanium, an engraving reading “1 of 2” or “2 of 2”.
Both watches are fitted with a black rubber strap featuring a fabric-effect texture, secured by a triple-folding clasp in either titanium or pink gold.
The Carbon and Silicium edition is limited to just two numbered pieces, engraved “1 of 2” and “2 of 2”, while the pink gold version is part of the regular collection. Pricing for the pink gold model is set at CHF 118,400 (approximately AED 547,000), while the ultra-limited composite version is available upon request.
