Silver Dial with Gem-Set Detailing
The Masterlink collection by Gerald Charles marks a significant chapter in the brand’s evolution, rooted in the legacy of the late Mr. Gérald Charles Genta. As the only known integrated asymmetric bracelet watch ever designed by Mr. Genta, the Masterlink builds on the creative foundations of the one-off Sarawak timepiece he created in 2007. With its distinct silhouette and integrated bracelet construction, the Masterlink brings a rare architectural clarity to contemporary watchmaking, aligning technical precision with aesthetic restraint.
Since its introduction, the collection has seen several editions, each reflecting the Maison’s ongoing pursuit of refined innovation. In its latest release, the brand unveils a distinctive gem-set version — the Masterlink Gem-Set — available in three colour variations, each adorned with -set precious stones.
The case of the Masterlink Gem-Set is a proprietary design developed entirely in-house by Gerald Charles, underscoring the brand’s technical expertise and commitment to innovation. Crafted from medical-grade 316L stainless steel, it measures 38mm x 38mm with a thickness of just 7.99mm, and features a refined combination of polished and satin-brushed finishes.
A right-hand screw-down crown with a Clous de Paris motif enhances both aesthetic detail and functionality. The white gold bezel is set with 60 baguette-cut gemstones — offered in three colour variations, blue sapphires, red sapphires, or green tsavorites — each precisely cut and invisibly set to complement the case’s asymmetrical form. The front crystal is sapphire with inner and outer multi-layer anti-reflective coating, while the exhibition case back combines brushed steel and sapphire crystal. With a water resistance of 100 metres, the case is engineered for both elegance and everyday versatility.
The dial of the Masterlink Gem-Set continues the collection’s emphasis on layered refinement and visual depth. Executed in silver, it features a double-layered construction with a vertical sunburst finish beneath applied vertical stripes — a detail that enhances light play across the surface while reinforcing the watch’s architectural design language. The hour markers are set with 13 baguette-cut gemstones, available in blue sapphires, red sapphires, or green tsavorites to match the bezel, each carefully aligned for visual symmetry. Skeletonized baton-shaped hands filled with Super-LumiNova provide clear legibility while maintaining the dial’s sleek, contemporary aesthetic.
At the heart of the Masterlink Gem-Set is the Swiss Manufacture 1.0 caliber, an automatic, extra-thin micro-rotor movement developed for optimal performance within the watch’s slim profile. Comprising 176 components, the movement operates at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3 Hz) and offers a power reserve of 50 hours. Its refined finishing includes snailing on the micro-rotor bridge, Côtes de Genève, and circular graining on the plates and bridges — all visible through the sapphire case back.
It comes with a fully integrated bracelet, exclusively developed in-house by Gerald Charles. Crafted from 316L stainless steel, the bracelet features a refined mix of polished and satin-brushed finishes that complement the case’s design. Available in three sizes for a tailored fit, it is secured by a folding clasp with a hexagonal plate engraved with the ‘GC’ emblem. Hidden external pushers are seamlessly integrated into the last two clasp links, allowing for discreet adjustment without compromising the bracelet’s clean, ergonomic profile. The Masterlink Gem-Set is a limited edition of just 10 pieces per gemstone colour, and pricing is available upon request.
