Introducing Gerald Charles Unveils the Maestro GC Sport Tennis Watch

Since its foundation in 2000 by Gérald Charles Genta, the Gerald Charles brand has been dedicated to creating limited edition timepieces for a select group of collectors. Over the years, the company has kept an archive of his original sketches, many of which remain a source of inspiration for new designs. To mark the brand’s 25th anniversary, Gerald Charles introduces the Maestro GC Sport Tennis, a new addition to the GC Sport collection. Drawing inspiration from Mr. Genta’s earlier works and the brand’s history with sports themed timepieces, this model incorporates elements from tennis and golf.

The watch comes in a 39 mm x 41 mm Darkblast ultra-light Grade 5 titanium case, weighing just 64 grams, and 9mm of thickness. This case maintains the iconic and distinctive shape Maestro watches of Gerald Charles is known for, offering a perfect blend of style and comfort. Featuring a left hand screw down crown with the Clous de Paris motif, it is strategically positioned to avoid any interference during tennis matches, allowing for uninterrupted performance. Built with 5G shock resistance, the case ensures durability and resilience. The flat sapphire crystal case back provides a clear view of the watch's intricate mechanics, while its 100 meter water resistance adds practicality to its elegant design.

The watch features a vibrant yellow dial, with a grained textured base that transitions into a degradé black color on the edges, evoking the distinctive look of a tennis ball. The dial is designed with a white minute track around the perimeter, and the baton-shaped hands are filled with white SuperLumiNova, glowing green at night for enhanced visibility. Arabic numerals applied at the 3, 9, and 12 o'clock positions provide a clear reading of the time, while the date window is positioned at 6 o'clock for added functions. The textured finish, achieved through a handcrafted process of hand-hammering and applying a glossy coating, creates a dynamic three dimensional effect, emphasizing the sporty character of the watch.

The watch is powered by the Swiss-made automatic, ultra-thin Swiss Manufacture 2.0 Caliber movement, designed in-house by Gerald Charles. This advanced movement features a central rotor, engraved with a special 25th-anniversary logo, marking a unique design for this year only. The movement operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz), and incorporates a twin-barrel system, providing a 50 hour power reserve, and features the Incabloc anti-shock system for enhanced durability. The rotor's unidirectional mechanism, along with the stop-second mechanism, ensures precise timekeeping. Additionally, the movement’s bridges are finely decorated with intricate, côtes de Genève, and perlage finishings, while the 189 components work seamlessly to deliver reliable performance.

It comes with a yellow velcro strap, and titanium buckle, and it’s a limited edition to 200 pieces.
