Introducing Albishorn Unveils the Type 10 Officer
Welcome to the hub of the horoloy
Exceptional touches adorn the limited edition in celebration of both brands’ anniversaries
In a tribute to legacy and the enduring art of fine watchmaking, Ahmed Seddiqi, the leading luxury watch and jewellery destination in the region, has partnered with Swiss independent watchmaker Gerald Charles to unveil the Maestro “Tiger’s Eye.” This limited-edition timepiece celebrates the 75th anniversary of Ahmed Seddiqi and the 25th anniversary of Gerald Charles.
The Maestro 2.0 Ultra-Thin, limited to just 20 pieces, is the result of a close collaboration between Mohammed Abdulmagied Seddiqi, CEO of Ahmed Seddiqi, and Federico Ziviani, CEO of Gerald Charles. Their longstanding friendship and shared passion for horology are reflected in this creation.
At its heart lies a dial crafted from tiger’s eye, a rare and visually striking fibrous quartz admired for its golden shimmer and captivating chatoyancy. Once popular in the 1970s, the stone has been reinterpreted here with a modern aesthetic, embodying the spirit of both brands. Because of the stone’s internal fragility, it requires diamond-tipped tools, slow precision cutting, and the expertise of master lapidary artisans. Each dial undergoes a rigorous selection process, with only the most structurally sound and visually balanced pieces chosen. The result is a dial that is both technically complex and artistically unique, alive with depth, texture, and luminosity.
The dial is framed by the brand’s signature Maestro case, renowned for its fluid, architectural lines. For this edition, Gerald Charles introduces its first-ever Colormix finish on the exterior, a metallic bronze-brown tone achieved through a proprietary blend of chemical and physical treatments. Previously reserved for internal components, this finish has been specially reinforced for external use, giving the case a distinctive warmth and enhanced scratch resistance.
The stainless-steel case, measuring 39 x 41 mm with a slim 9 mm profile, combines polished surfaces with the new brown Colormix finish to accentuate its refined architecture. It is fitted with a sapphire crystal featuring internal and external multi-layer anti-reflective treatment, while the sapphire crystal caseback reveals the movement within. A screw-down crown adorned with a Clous de Paris motif adds an elegant touch to its functionality. Composed of 35 meticulously assembled components, the case ensures water resistance to 100 meters.

In a bold departure for Gerald Charles, the dial features neither indices nor a minute track, allowing the natural beauty of the stone to take centre stage.
Inside beats the Swiss-manufactured calibre 2.0 (Ref. GCA2000), a slim 3.7 mm movement composed of 189 components. Operating at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz), it offers a power reserve of 50 hours. Finely decorated with colimaçon, Côtes de Genève, and perlage finishes, the movement balances elegance with everyday wearability.
Completing the design, the watch is paired with a sand-toned vulcanised rubber strap featuring a Clous de Paris finish on the top side and a Gerald Charles logo tapisserie on the reverse. The strap is secured with a polished Colormix stainless steel pin buckle, equipped with an easy-release spring bar and engraved with the GC logo. Its matte texture and warm hue evoke the golden landscapes of the UAE, echoing the tones of the dial and case.
The Maestro “Tiger’s Eye” is limited to 20 pieces, available exclusively through Ahmed Seddiqi boutiques. Priced at 94,000 AED.
