A Fusion of Suisse Handmade Craftsmanship and Contemporary Vision of The French Artist Romaric André
In what could be perceived as a fusion of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary artistry, Frederique Constant has partnered with Romaric André, also known as seconde/seconde/, to unveil two limited editions of their esteemed Slimline Moonphase Date Manufacture watch. This collaboration introduces two modified versions: a stainless steel model, limited to 100 pieces, and an exclusive variant featuring rose gold-tone crown and dial accents, restricted to just 10 pieces. These special edition timepieces showcase the handcrafted essence of Frederique Constant’s Slimline Moonphase Date Manufacture by incorporating elements of human error and uneven typography that could only be achieved by hand, while ensuring impeccable execution and embellishment by skilled artisans.
Romaric André initially gained recognition by revitalizing vintage timepieces through the substitution of hands with customized replacements. However, since his inaugural collaboration with William Massena in 2019, seconde/seconde/ limited editions have experienced increasing demand among both brands and collectors.
The Slimline Moonphase Date Manufacture Seconde/Seconde/ Limited Edition is available in two 42mm models. The first version features a first for the Slimline Moonphase Date model: rose gold accents on the case and dial. Meanwhile, the second version features steel accents.

At first glance, all the hallmarks of the Slimline Moonphase Date Manufacture are instantly recognizable: the polished three-part 42mm stainless steel case, with a big onion-shaped crown. On the reverse side of the case, the open display case spotlights the text: 'How do we tell the world that manual assembly is at the core of our Manufacture? We asked the artist Seconde/Seconde/. He took it too far.'
The Seconde/Seconde/ Slimline Moonphase Date Manufacture models can be distinguished by uncommon matte silver dial details expressing humor and folly. The applied hour markers appear to be unevenly dispatched. The script of the logo and the date indication look as if they were handwritten. Even the moonphase disk’s moon and stars look uneven and drawn by hand, while minutes and hours are in the center, and the date surrounds the moonphase in black hands.
Beneath this transparent case back, the FC-705 in-house automatic caliber is visible. This movement spotlights perlage graining on the base plate, Côtes de Genève striping on the bridge, and blued screws throughout. Its bi-directional oscillating rotor, which comes in a gold hue in the gold edition, efficiently winds the mainspring barrel to deliver a power reserve of 38 hours. It features a dark brown alligator leather strap with a matte finish and tone-on-tone stitching, stainless steel folding buckle.
For availability, the first version, available exclusively on Frederique Constant’s online boutique with only 10 pieces for sale, features a first for the Slimline Moonphase Date model: rose gold accents on the case and dial. Meanwhile, the second version features steel accents and can be found at authorized Frederique Constant retailers around the world; however, only 100 pieces are available. Both are priced at 3,295 Euro, which is equivalent to 13,100 AED.
