Four Editions Exclusive to Latin America Featuring a Glass-Fiber Case
Swiss luxury watch brand Franck Muller presents the Vanguard Wave, an exclusive collection created for Latin America. The Vanguard Wave carries the unmistakable spirit of Franck Muller, the sculpted curves, the distinctive tonneau silhouette, and the expressive numerals, while introducing a new material shaped through extreme heat and pressure: high-density glass-fiber composite.
Crafted from this advanced composite, the case of the Vanguard Wave is produced by melting glass at 1,500°C and pulling it into fine sheets. These sheets are immersed in specialised color baths to achieve their final hue before being compressed into solid blocks. The result is a case that is lightweight, resilient, and uniformly colored throughout, enhancing the clean lines and fluidity of the design. This is not surface-applied color; it is matter engineered from within.
Measuring 41 mm × 49.95 mm with a 12.2 mm thickness, the tonneau-shaped case is then precisely sculpted through CNC machining, revealing the organic, undulating lines of the Wave. Despite its bold presence, the case remains remarkably lightweight yet exceptionally durable, combining strength and agility in a way that aligns naturally with the sportier dimension of the Vanguard identity.
The collection is offered in four vivid colors, each expressing a bold, modern character. All editions feature a black dial base and black hands coated with white Super-LumiNova. The oversized Arabic numerals are hand-coated and hand-applied, while the rounded date window at 6 o’clock comes with a white background across all versions.
Inside, the watch is powered by the FM 2536-SCDT caliber, a reliable in-house automatic movement with bi-directional winding. It beats at 28,800 vph (4 Hz) and offers a 42-hour power reserve, a movement previously featured in several Curvex models.
The movement showcases a high level of finishing, highlighted by Côtes de Genève on both the bridges and the rotor plate, while the mainplate features refined perlage. The rotor board displays meticulous beveling, complemented by diamond-polished sinks and bridge bevels that enhance brilliance. Additional textures include sunray brushing on the bridges, rotor segment, bearing cage, and barrel cover, along with snailing on the ratchets—a harmonious blend of traditional craftsmanship and visual depth.

The watch is paired with a woven fabric strap inspired by sportswear aesthetics for enhanced comfort and versatility, and it is fitted with a titanium buckle blended with white hybrid resin at the molecular level.
