Introducing Fortis unveils V-40 Vagabond GMT watch with three dials displaying different colors

a Watch Marries Functionality with Stylish Design for Adventurers and Aviation Professionals

The Swiss brand "Fortis" was founded in 1912 in Grenchen, Switzerland. The company specializes in producing watches for professionals in aviation and diving. Fortis has a long-standing history of creating watches specifically designed for aviation, with many pilots and astronauts relying on its timepieces for various missions. In 1962, Fortis became the official watch supplier for the American space program, reflecting the trust placed in its products by major institutions. Today, Fortis has introduced its latest release, the “V-40 Vagabond GMT” watch, which features three distinct dials, each showcasing a different hue. This innovative model enhances the brand's commitment to combining functionality with stylish design, catering to the needs of modern adventurers and travelers.

The case comes in a distinctive 40mm square shape, with a thickness of 13.9mm and a lug-to-lug measurement of 51mm, crafted from Grade 5 titanium that balances lightness with exceptional durability. Featuring a mix of brushed and polished finishes, the case accentuates its angular design, while the short, curved lugs ensure a comfortable fit with the titanium bracelet, which is securely fastened with screws for easy adjustments. Rated for water resistance up to 200 meters, the watch includes a fluted screw-down crown for enhanced functionality. The sapphire crystal is treated with an anti-reflective coating on both sides.

The Fortis is available in three dial colors: stormy grey, blue dusk, urban shadow. At the center is a luxurious 18k white gold GMT ring, meticulously crafted to feature a 24-hour scale; the 12 o’clock position on this ring has been replaced by a date window. The dials are adorned with polished numerals and indices, with white minute markers in between. The hour and minute hands, the tip of the GMT hand, and the hour markers are coated with Super-LumiNova X1 for optimal visibility in low light. The design is accentuated by the distinctive orange tip of the GMT hand, which seamlessly indicates a second time zone.

The watch powered by the chronometer-certified calibre Werk 13 exemplifies precision and durability, having been meticulously developed in collaboration with Kenissi. This automatic movement operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz), ensuring optimal performance. It offers a robust 70-hour power reserve and incorporates a bidirectional rotor and a traversing bridge that enhances resistance to shocks and vibrations.

It comes with a Grade 5 titanium bracelet with a push-button folding clasp and a micro-adjustment mechanism and priced at USD 6,150 which is equivalent to AED 22,570.
