Introducing Formex Unveils the Essence 41mm COSC

Among Formex’s most acclaimed releases, the Essence collection stands out as a perfect synthesis of technical sophistication and modern style. With its clean geometry, mechanical excellence, and everyday versatility, the Essence has become the brand’s defining signature.

Following the success of the limited Space Ghost edition, Formex introduces four new versions of the Essence 41mm COSC, a core collection that bridges the gap between the 39mm and 43mm models. Crafted from 316L stainless steel with a Grade 2 titanium container, the 41mm case measures 10.6mm in thickness. It retains the patented Case Suspension System, designed to absorb shocks and enhance wrist comfort.

The caseback features a sapphire crystal revealing the movement inside. Both front and back crystals are treated with anti-reflective coating on the inside to minimize glare and preserve clarity. The watch is water-resistant to 100 meters.

Produced in Formex’s family-owned dial manufacture in the Swiss Jura, each of the four dial variations reveals a different facet of the Essence identity. All share CNC-milled horizontal grooves, a beveled date window at 6 o’clock, and applied indices and hands with brushed planes, polished facets, and deep-filled Super-LumiNova BGW9.

The Blue version stands as a classic within the Essence range, showcasing vertical brushing that transitions from dark navy to vivid blue under changing light. The Gamaret dial introduces a gradient red tone inspired by the Swiss wine grape of the same name, bright at the center and darker toward the edges. The Dégradé version presents a refined brown dial with a smooth gradient that fades to near black, while the White version brings a crisp, lacquered finish, with gunmetal hands and indices that catch the light with polished bevels. Each version includes a color-matched date wheel to maintain aesthetic harmony.

Powering the watch is the chronometer-certified Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement. It operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz) and provides a power reserve of 41 hours. The movement is decorated with a custom skeletonized rotor featuring blued screws.

Formex equips the watch with the latest generation of its micro-adjustable butterfly clasp, co-developed with its sister company Dexel. The patented mechanism allows on-the-fly adjustments of 0mm, 3mm, or 6mm directly on the wrist without opening the clasp, ensuring perfect comfort throughout the day. The stainless steel bracelet features redesigned link screws with offset threading for improved durability and wear resistance. Alternatively, the model is available on leather, rubber, or nylon straps equipped with Formex’s carbon-fiber deployant clasp offering a 7mm fine-adjustment system.

Joining the permanent collection, the Essence 41mm COSC expands the lineup with a refined and more versatile size. The Formex Essence 41mm COSC is priced at CHF 1,500, approximately AED 8,249.
