Two chronographs that define Eska’s new chapter
Eska is not a household name, even among collectors. It belongs to a quieter layer of European watchmaking history, shaped by small manufactures whose priority was function rather than prestige. Originally founded in Switzerland, the brand built its early reputation on producing dependable mechanical wristwatches intended for everyday professional use. Over time, as industrial watchmaking shifted during the quartz crisis and many independent names disappeared, Eska gradually faded into obscurity.

In 2024, the name was revived in France by Christophe Chevreton and Sinicha Knezevic. Their ambition was not to recreate archival pieces, but to reinterpret Eska’s original philosophy through modern engineering, contemporary production standards, and accessible pricing. This revival repositioned Eska as a French brand while preserving its Swiss mechanical heritage, creating a bridge between its origins and its present identity.

This renewed direction finds its clearest expression in the Eska Light collection, a family of lightweight, modern chronographs inspired by classic motorsport timing instruments. Within this line, the brand introduces two new references in its latest release, the Racing Azur and the Racing Sunset.
The watches are housed in 316L stainless steel cases measuring 41 mm in diameter with a thickness of 14.9 mm. They are topped with domed sapphire crystals with anti-reflective coating, and on the reverse, mineral glass screw-down casebacks secure the movements and provide water resistance rated at 50 meters.

The Racing Azur is defined by its vertically brushed blue surface, which creates a dynamic play of light, while the Racing Sunset introduces a warm matte salmon tone for a softer visual presence. Both models feature bi-compax chronograph dials with two subdials: the 30-minute chronograph counter sits at 3 o’clock, and the small seconds display is positioned at 9 o’clock. Time is indicated by central hour and minute hands, supported by applied hour markers that differ in style between the two versions.

Powering both chronographs is the SL4617 automatic movement. It operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz) and delivers a power reserve of 45 hours. Each watch is paired with a leather strap and is priced at EUR 408, approximately AED 1,800.
