Eclipsing Expectations, The Third Release from the Newborn Brand
Amidst the anticipation swirling around the watchmaking world in the lead-up to Watch and Wonders, Beda’a has unveiled their latest masterpiece: Eclipse. This marks the Qatari company's third and final release before the event, following the successful debut of both classic Fortress and sport Attrayant timepieces.
The genesis of Eclipse was not without its hurdles, navigating challenges from the initial design phase to the meticulous assembly process. Guided by Beda’a's commitment to maintaining strict thickness limits for the watch, the journey was a testament to their unwavering dedication to excellence. Yet, as the dust settles and the curtain rises, the culmination of this laborious process reveals a timepiece that speaks volumes.
Eclipse watch, it's a manifestation of artistry and innovation. Drawing inspiration from the celestial phenomenon it's named after, Eclipse embodies a bold reinterpretation of timekeeping. Its distinctive design employs the concept of "blocking," shrouding most of the dial while selectively revealing essential information to the wearer. The result? A mesmerizing timepiece that not only commands attention but also offers unparalleled comfort for everyday wear.
This release marks a significant milestone for Beda’a, as Eclipse represents their inaugural foray into the international market. Seamlessly blending the brand's rich heritage in watchmaking with a fresh, avant-garde design language, Eclipse serves as a beacon of Beda’a's redefined identity. With this daring creation, Beda’a invites the world to witness the evolution of their craftsmanship. The company will be present during Geneva Watch Week at the Beau Rivage Hotel from April 9 to 14, If you are in Geneva, you can visit them to see their latest publications.
The case, crafted from stainless steel 904, measures 37mm in diameter and 8.1mm in height, presenting a sleek and robust design. Its sapphire crystal case back unveils the intricate inner workings, showcasing the swiss movement within. With a water resistance of 30 meters, Sized to fit all wrist sizes The watch was made to be seen on wrists every day.
The large polished bezel harmonizes with the stunning design of the lugs, which extend to the middle of the case band, resembling crown guards. Meanwhile, the embellished crown complements the overall aesthetic.
The celestial shield is the defining feature of the Eclipse; it covers most of the dial, leaving only an opening for the hour reading. Around the celestial shield runs the floating minutes hand, reminiscent of sunrays shining behind the black cover of an eclipse. Lastly, the unique architecture of the shield and 3D-dial work together to create a depth effect that produces a luminous shot unlike any other.
The watch is powered by the Sellita SW300 Swiss automatic movement,, beating at 28,800 bph, elegantly displayed through the sapphire case back. The movement boasts up to 56 hours of power reserve. It comes equipped with an ostrich leather strap, and pricing information is available upon request.
