Sunray Dial Featuring a Design Inspired by the 1970s watch
The Sport Classic collection from Ebel is one of the most iconic collections ever launched by the prestigious Swiss brand. Since its debut in 1977, it has had a significant impact on the brand with its sporty design. One of its latest releases, the brand has introduced a new edition inspired by the original 1977 model, reviving one of its most beloved designs.
The watch comes in a satin-brushed and crisp polished bevel-rounded stainless steel case, offering a sophisticated design. With a 37mm diameter and a thickness of 8.63mm, it strikes a perfect balance between a sleek, compact profile and a bold presence on the wrist. The round polished bezel is complemented by five polished screws, adding to its refined, technical appeal. The dial and movement, visible through the case back secured with four screws, are protected by a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective treatment underneath, offering a clear view of the intricate details. With a water resistance of 50 meters, complemented by the crown decorated with the brand's logo.
The watch boasts a striking galvanic green dial with a sunray finish, exuding a rich and dynamic appearance as it catches the light. Rhodium-plated Roman numerals and faceted hands enhance its classical charm, while a white minute track around the edges ensures clear legibility. A date window at 3 o'clock adds practicality without disrupting the dial's symmetry, and the flat, diamond-cut, rhodium-plated sweep seconds hand adds a touch of elegance, gliding over the surface.
The watch is powered by Sellita automatic movement, caliber SW 300-1, operating at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz) for precise timekeeping. With a 56-hour power reserve, it ensures continued performance even after being removed from the wrist for more than 2 days. The movement also features a stop-seconds function, allowing for accurate time synchronization, and is equipped with a customized openworked rotor that adds a nice touch.
It comes with a stainless steel wave link bracelet and folding clasp, at price USD 3,000, approximately equivalent to AED 11,100.
