Mother-of-Pearl dial with gold accents and a beautiful snake motif
Dior is a renowned French luxury brand established in 1946 by Christian Dior. The brand quickly rose to prominence with its innovative haute couture collections. Over the years, Dior has expanded into a diverse range of luxury items, including fragrances, cosmetics, accessories, and jewelry, solidifying its reputation for elegance. In addition to its haute couture and ready-to-wear lines, Dior is also known for creating fine timepieces. The Dior Grand Soir collection stands out as one of its most prestigious watch collections. A key highlight of the Dior Grand Soir collection is the "Year of the Snake" watch, this year introduced to celebrate the Chinese Year of the Snake.
The watch comes in a 36 mm steel case complemented by an 18K pink gold bezel, adorned with 52 brilliant-cut diamonds totaling 1.30 ct. The steel crown is engraved with the iconic CD logo, while the transparent sapphire crystal case back offers a view of the intricate movement, enhanced with a pink gold anti-glare mineral coating. The caseback is encircled by a steel bezel secured with four screws, ensuring a water-resistance up to 30 meters.
The brand has chosen to leave the dial free of indexes or markers, allowing the wearer to fully appreciate the scene presented. It features a white mother-of-pearl surface adorned with a snake motif that seems to crawl between gold leaves and mother-of-pearl elements. The dial is further enhanced by a combination of mother-of-pearl and 18K pink gold flowers, adding both depth and elegance. The pink gold faceted hour and minute hands complement the refined aesthetic perfectly.
The watch is powered by Sellita SW300 automatic movement. With a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz), it ensures smooth and accurate timekeeping, and offers a 42-hour power reserve. It comes with a Blue satin strap with a steel pin buckle, set with 18 brilliant-cut diamonds. It’s a limited edition of 38 pieces, and priced at EUR 38,500 approximately equivalent to AED 160,000.
