The iconic diver’s watch now comes in a smaller stainless steel case
Building on the legacy of one of its most recognizable timepieces, Delma introduces the new Shell Star 41mm, a sleeker evolution of its iconic diver’s watch. True to its heritage, the design remains rooted in DELMA’s dive watches of the 1970s. Updated proportions and signature elements, such as the robust case architecture, bold markers, and purposeful detailing, carry forward the spirit of the original, now reinterpreted for broader appeal.
Previously most often offered in 44mm stainless steel cases, the Shell Star now takes a more versatile turn. Following earlier 41mm executions in titanium, DELMA introduces for the first time, a stainless steel version in this more compact size, making the Shell Star mechanical watch accessible to a wider audience.
The new Shell Star is housed in a refined 41mm stainless steel case, featuring a reduced diameter and a slimmer profile. This more ergonomic design enhances comfort and wearability while preserving the presence and technical integrity that define the collection.
The case measures 41mm in diameter, 12.8mm in thickness, with a lug-to-lug length of 47.5mm. It retains the familiar cushion-shaped architecture, topped with a sapphire crystal and paired with a mineral glass caseback. The improved proportions contribute to better ergonomics, while a unidirectional stainless steel bezel with a luminous marker at 12 o’clock ensures precise dive timing. A screw-down crown and robust construction guarantee water resistance up to 200 meters.
The collection introduces a range of fresh dial colours, from classic black and white to more expressive tones such as orange, yellow, and light blue, all enhanced by a subtle grained texture. A date window at 3 o’clock integrates seamlessly into the layout. The dial remains faithful to the Shell Star identity, featuring large applied indices and hands filled with Super-LumiNova BGW9 for optimal legibility.
Powering the watch is the reliable Sellita SW200-1 calibre. Operating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), this automatic movement delivers a power reserve of approximately 41 hours. Visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, it features a customized rotor engraved with DELMA’s branding, adding a distinctive touch.
The Shell Star 41mm is available on either a three-link stainless steel bracelet with a folding clasp, or a rubber strap with colour-matched stitching and a steel pin buckle.
Prices start at EUR 1,300 (approximately AED 5,525) for the stainless steel bracelet version, and EUR 1,250 (approximately AED 5,300) for the rubber strap option.
