A perpetual calendar inspired by the celestial beauty of the night sky
Independent Swiss watchmaker De Bethune has built its reputation on a distinctive blend of technical mastery and artistic expression. Among the brand’s most emblematic creations is the DB25 collection, known for its elegant round cases, signature openworked lugs and poetic interpretations of astronomical themes. The line has become a cornerstone of the maison’s identity, offering a canvas where mechanical complexity meets refined aesthetic balance.

As part of its participation in Dubai Watch Week 2025, De Bethune expands the DB25 collection with the unveiling of the DB25 Perpetual Sky, a new 40 mm perpetual calendar that brings the beauty of the night sky to the wrist.
The watch is crafted in Grade 5 titanium and sized at 40 mm, a thoughtful update designed to deliver a slender and more versatile presence on the wrist. It retains the recognisable DB25 silhouette with its slim profile and hollowed, slanted lugs that help the case sit naturally and comfortably. A sapphire crystal caseback provides a clear view of the movement’s architecture.

The dial features a starry sky, with the Milky Way appearing across a blued titanium surface created through thermal oxidation, hand-set white gold pins and delicate micro-milling techniques. The perpetual calendar indications are arranged on a multi-level structure with ring-shaped appliqués. The date display sits at 6 o’clock, while the day and month apertures appear at 9 and 3 o’clock. Mirror-polished curved yellow gold hands ensure elegant and precise time reading. At 12 o’clock, the blued steel and palladium spherical moon tracks the lunar cycle with remarkable accuracy and deviates by only one day in 122 years.

The watch is powered by the hand-wound calibre DB2005V3, developed and assembled entirely in-house. The movement incorporates several of De Bethune’s signature technical achievements, including a titanium and white gold balance wheel, a De Bethune balance spring with a flat terminal curve, a silicon escape wheel and the brand’s triple pare-chute shock-absorbing system.

The perpetual calendar mechanism and spherical moon are meticulously integrated, and the movement comprises more than 330 components, each crafted and finished by skilled artisans and assembled by a Grand Complication watchmaker.
The watch is paired with an alligator leather strap secured by a Grade 5 titanium buckle. It is produced as an annual limited edition, and the price remains upon request.
