Introducing De Bethune Elevates the DB28XP Collection with the Steel Wheels Tourbillon

De Bethune introduces the DB28XP Steel Wheels Tourbillon, an exquisite addition to its renowned DB28XP collection. This ultra-thin, lightweight masterpiece exemplifies the brand’s dedication to innovation, seamlessly blending cutting-edge technology with breathtaking artistry.

Inspired by the much-celebrated DB28XP Steel Wheels, which redefined the aesthetic codes of contemporary watchmaking, the DB28XP Steel Wheels Tourbillon elevates the design with the inclusion of a tourbillon—a complication renowned for its technical precision and ability to enhance accuracy. This latest edition represents an unparalleled fusion of avant-garde design and mechanical excellence, available in a limited edition of just 10 pieces.

While retaining the signature DNA of the DB28 collection, the new DB28XP Steel Wheels Tourbillon offers a slightly larger case size at 43 mm, compared to the previous DB28XS Steel Wheels, which measured 39 mm. Despite the increase in diameter, the thickness remains impressively thin at just 9.1 mm, a mere 1 mm thicker than its smaller counterpart.

The watch boasts a polished grade 5 titanium case, complemented by De Bethune’s patented floating lugs, designed to naturally adapt to wrist movements for enhanced comfort. The dial is protected by a sapphire crystal with double anti-reflective coating, while the power reserve indicator is visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, which is treated with the same anti-reflective coating.

The  openworked, dial reveals a polished titanium base, accentuated by a circular snailed blued titanium hour ring. The minute ring and 30-second counter are crafted from circular satin-finished titanium, while the polished titanium hands further enhance the watch’s refined aesthetic. A titanium bridge with sandblasted and polished chamfered edges adds to the architectural appeal of the timepiece. At 6 o'clock, the ultra-light De Bethune tourbillon is prominently displayed, framed by a titanium bridge and a 30-second counter encircling its cage. The blue accents on the dial evoke memories of the DB28XP Kind of Blue.

Powering the watch is the  manually winding DB2009v5 movement, operates at 36,000 VPH, equipped with a balance wheel incorporating the latest advancements, modest in diameter, crafted from titanium, and fitted with small white gold weights positioned externally. The movement is also Equipped with the renowned De Bethune hairspring, it has been meticulously designed to maintain its center of gravity precisely at the midpoint. This is achieved through a flat curve fixed externally to the hairspring. 

The watch is paired with an extra-supple alligator leather strap, featuring alligator lining and a grade 5 titanium pin buckle. As a limited edition of just 10 pieces, the price available upon request.
