A New Size and Grand Feu Enamel Dials to Conclude the Maison’s Anniversary Celebrations
Czapek & Cie unveils three new additions to the Quai des Bergues collection, led by the limited-edition “Sursum Corda,” the culminating piece in the Maison’s 2025 anniversary quartet. This commemorative creation marks 180 years since master watchmaker François Czapek founded the Maison in Geneva in 1845, and ten years since its revival in 2015 under new stewardship.
This final celebratory release follows the Antarctique Tourbillon, the first in-house complication within the Antarctique line, presented at Watches and Wonders, the Antarctique Plique-à-Jour, a contemporary expression of métiers d’art, and the recently introduced Time Jumper at Dubai Watch Week, powered by the jumping-hours Czapek Caliber 10. With the Quai des Bergues “Sursum Corda,” the Maison returns to its historical roots, reaffirming its enduring pursuit of refined simplicity and poetic beauty.
Alongside the anniversary model, Czapek introduces two new continuing references: the Quai des Bergues N°33, crafted in rose gold with a white grand feu enamel dial, and the N°25, combining stainless steel with grand feu enamel, a sophisticated evolution of the earlier 33bis and 25ter references.
First revealed in 2015, the Quai des Bergues collection takes its name from François Czapek’s original Geneva atelier, established before he opened boutiques in Paris (Place Vendôme) and Warsaw. The founders of modern-day Czapek immersed themselves deeply in the Maison’s 19th-century heritage, studying archival pocket watches such as the 1850s Reference 5350, which provided the inspiration for the original Quai des Bergues wristwatches.

Together, the new Quai des Bergues “Sursum Corda,” N°33, and N°25 represent a symbolic closure to the 2025 anniversary cycle, tracing the Maison’s journey from rebirth to a renewed and assured identity.
While the original Quai des Bergues watches were offered in 42.5 mm (and later 38.5 mm), the new “Sursum Corda” debuts in 40.5 mm, a size chosen to harmonize modern wrist proportions with classical finesse and exceptional legibility. The case height is 11.9 mm, with a 47.7 mm lug-to-lug span. Rose gold is used for both the “Sursum Corda” and N°33, while N°25 is crafted in stainless steel.
Each new Quai des Bergues reference faithfully reinterprets traditional pocket watch aesthetics, featuring elongated Roman numerals, a white grand feu enamel dial, blued steel hands, and the collection’s signature twin de-centred subdials. The small seconds appear at 7:30, while the subdial at 4:30 indicates both the power reserve and day of the week.
The Latin motto “Sursum Corda” (“Lift up your hearts”) is discreetly placed beneath the enamel, revealed only when the light strikes at particular angles. A laser-engraved “10 / 180” emblem—marking ten years of the brand’s modern revival and 180 years since its founding—rests within the small-seconds subdial.
For the two non-limited references, N°33 and N°25, collectors may customize their watch with either historical ‘Fleur-de-Lys’ hands or a contemporary arrow-style design, and may also choose a “secret sentence” engraved into the enamel dial.
All three watches are powered by Czapek’s proprietary manual-winding Calibre SXH1, the same movement lineage featured in the original Quai des Bergues models. Its twin-barrel construction delivers a 7-day (168-hour) power reserve, enabling practical weekly winding, a nod to 19th-century pocket watches traditionally wound on Sundays. The movement reflects mid-19th-century architecture, with dual barrels, a symmetrical layout, and open ratchets, enhanced by refined haute horlogerie finishing: circular graining, hand-chamfered bridges, and sand-blasted surfaces. The variable-inertia balance beats at 21,600 vph (3 Hz).
Each timepiece is paired with an alligator leather strap and a matching pin buckle. While N°25 and N°33 join the Maison’s permanent collection, the “Sursum Corda” is limited to just 10 pieces.
