A double chronograph timepiece with a sporty design inspired by icy elegance
Since its debut in August 2021, the Klepcys DICE collection has stood at the forefront of mechanical innovation in contemporary watchmaking. Developed by Cyrus Genève, an independent Swiss manufacture known for its unconventional engineering, the DICE (Double Independent Chronograph Evolution) introduced a world-first: a chronograph capable of measuring two independent time intervals within a single movement — not as a split-seconds function, but as two fully autonomous chronographs.
This breakthrough positioned Klepcys DICE as a reference point in the field of chronograph complication, earning the respect of collectors and industry insiders alike. Today, Klepcys DICE remains a hallmark of Cyrus’s engineering language — merging utility and invention in ways few modern chronographs attempt. Now, Cyrus Genève announces the latest evolution in the DICE family, the "KLEPCYS DICE GLACIAL BLUE", featuring a distinctive pale blue hue inspired by the icy depths of glaciers, the delicate frost layering pine forests, and the muted tones of overcast alpine skies.
The iconic cushion-shaped case of the Klepcys DICE Glacial Blue is crafted from polished and brushed Grade 5 titanium, assembled from 26 individual components that underscore the brand’s dedication to intricate case architecture. Measuring 42 mm in diameter (excluding crowns) and 16.5 mm thick, the case is defined by its elongated lugs, a squared bezel with subtly rounded edges, and symmetrical twin crowns — design signatures of the DICE family.
At 3 o’clock, the primary crown manages both manual winding "position 1" and time setting "position 2", and integrates a pusher that controls chronograph No. 1 start–stop–reset. Mirroring this functionality, the crown at 9 o’clock operates chronograph No. 2. The dial-side sapphire crystal features double-sided anti-reflective treatment, while the transparent case back, also in sapphire, is secured by custom screws engraved with the Cyrus logo and the signature of master watchmaker Jean-François Mojon (J.F Mojon 1 of 38). Engineered to perform under pressure, the case offers water resistance up to 100 meters.
The openworked dial of the Klepcys DICE Glacial Blue reveals the intricate architecture of the movement, allowing a clear view of the dual chronograph mechanism and its two column wheels in action from the dial side. Set against a backdrop of microblasted plates treated in the collection’s signature Glacial Blue—a soft, icy hue achieved through ALD (Atomic Layer Deposition)—the display offers both depth and contrast. A transparent hour track crafted from anti-reflective sapphire crystal encircles the dial, featuring luminescent Arabic numerals for enhanced readability. Surrounding this is a double-scale flange that supports the mirrored chronograph layout.
The first chronograph, controlled via the 3 o’clock crown and pusher, is highlighted with white hands and resets to 12 o’clock, while the second chronograph, operated from the 9 o’clock crown, uses black hands and resets to 6 o’clock—a unique arrangement that emphasizes the model’s dual functionality. At 3 o’clock, the chronograph counter—made of anti-reflective sapphire—balances with the small seconds sub-dial at 9 o’clock, which also features a sapphire structure and a custom logo-shaped hand, reinforcing the watch’s symmetry and design continuity.
The watch is powered by the manufacture self-winding calibre CYR718, an in-house movement developed specifically to drive the Klepcys DICE’s unique independent dual chronograph system. This complex calibre is composed of 443 parts, of which 218 components and 17 jewels are dedicated solely to the chronograph module. Two column wheels independently control each chronograph, activating a network of levers and couplings that drive the seconds and 30-minute counters. Thanks to an advanced mechanical insulation system, both chronographs can operate simultaneously or separately without interfering with each other’s precision. The movement operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz), regulated by a variable inertia balance wheel and a Swiss lever escapement, and delivers a 55-hour power reserve.
Visually, the calibre is finished to the highest standards, rhodium-plated barrels with a snailed ratchet wheel bear the Cyrus logo in black lacquer, while the two mainplates, visible from the dial side, are treated in glacial blue ALD to match the watch’s aesthetic identity. The bridges, decorated in anthracite grey NAC, feature an embossed sunray motif, alternating satin and microbeaded textures, and hand-bevelled edges. Completing the movement is a sculptural openworked monobloc rotor, engraved with “The Conquest of Innovation”, and centered with a Cyrus helix logo in 18K 4N gold.
It comes with a glacial blue Cordura fabric strap and a Grade 5 titanium folding clasp. This watch is a limited edition of 38 pieces and is priced at CHF 33,500, approximately AED 155,000.
