Introducing Breguet Refreshes the Tradition Collection with a Modern Touch

A timepiece inspired by the famous 1972 Porsche Carrera 906 Aurora Spyder, for the Portuguese market
Cyrus is a distinguished independent Swiss watchmaking brand established in 2010. Nestled in the horological heartland of Le Locle, Cyrus operates its manufacturing under the expert guidance of master watchmaker Jean-Francois Mojon. As discussed in our previous review article, Cyrus continues to captivate enthusiasts with its blend of tradition and cutting-edge design. This year, Cyrus collaborates with Garagem Aurora, a well-known Portuguese automotive workshop, to introduce an exclusive edition of the "Klepcys Solo Tempo Aurora”,specifically crafted for the Portuguese market, taking its inspiration from the famous Aurora Spyder, a customisation of the 1972 Porsche Carrera 906.
In contrast to the Klepcys Dice and the Klepcys Alarm, the latest timepiece boasts a time-only display and is offered in two distinct case finishes. Retaining the iconic cushion-shaped case design with twin crowns, it is crafted from stainless steel and is available with either a matte or glossy black DLC coating. The case measures 46 mm in diameter and 14.8 mm in thickness, with a sapphire crystal protecting the dial. The screw-down case back bears personalized engravings of the AURORA logo and the workshop’s owner Eduardo Santos's signature.

Drawing inspiration from the tachymeter of the Aurora Spyder Porsche Carrera 906, the dial of this timepiece exudes a unique flair. It showcases bright green lacquered Arabic numerals ranging from 1 to 8, along with the inscription "UPM x 1000 RPM," complemented by red numerals from 9 to 10, arranged in an off-center semi-circle on the left, set against a microbeaded black dial. The flange features alternating white indices and red Arabic numerals at 5-minute intervals. The hour and minute hands, crafted in an openworked style, are filled with Super-LumiNova for enhanced legibility in any lighting conditions. Additionally, a subtle red seconds hand perfectly harmonizes with the color scheme of the dial.

The timepiece is powered by the self-winding calibre CYR1015 movement, operating at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz) and providing a power reserve of 42 hours. The watch comes with a red leather strap, evoking a sporty or automotive aesthetic, secured around the wrist with a black DLC steel folding clasp.
