Introducing Breguet Refreshes the Tradition Collection with a Modern Touch

Four new references with slimmer proportions, and beautiful textured dials
Within its broader range of releases, the Series 8 collection represents Citizen’s contemporary mechanical sports watch offering. Introduced as a line that blends practicality with a sharp, modern design language, Series 8 has gradually become one of the brand’s most recognizable mechanical collections.

Series 8 watches are designed to deliver strong daily functionality while maintaining a distinctive architectural aesthetic. Angular lines, integrated bracelets, and textured dials have become defining elements of the series. With its latest releases, Citizen expands the concept with a new generation of models that embrace a slightly smaller and slimmer profile, reflecting a growing preference for more compact sports watches.

The new Citizen Series 8 NB608 lineup consists of four references in total. Three of them join the permanent collection, including the NB6080-51W in stainless steel with a green dial, the NB6084-50A in stainless steel with yellow gold-colour plating accents and a silver dial, and the NB6085-57W with yellow gold-colour plating and warm gold accents paired with a light brown dial. Completing the launch is reference NB6086-54E, a limited edition of 1,200 pieces distinguished by its grey and gold colour scheme and a dial made from forged carbon.

The case maintains the bold geometry associated with the collection. Citizen constructs it from five carefully finished components, allowing the surfaces to alternate between polished and brushed treatments that emphasize the watch’s crisp lines. The case measures 39.3 mm in diameter and 10.4 mm in thickness. Turning the watch over reveals a transparent caseback that allows a view of the mechanical movement inside. The construction maintains a robust sports-watch character, and the watch offers water resistance rated at 200 metres.

One of the most distinctive elements of the new models is the dial. Citizen has developed a central pattern that merges a stylised interpretation of Tokyo’s night-time skyline with a traditional Japanese check motif often associated with prosperity and success. The result is a textured surface that catches the light in a dynamic way while still preserving clarity.

The dial features faceted hands filled with luminous material, ensuring clear legibility in low-light conditions, along with applied indices designed with refined proportions. The layout remains straightforward and practical, displaying hours, minutes, central seconds, and a date window positioned at 3 o’clock.

All models are powered by Citizen’s Calibre 9051. This mechanical movement was selected specifically for its slim construction, allowing the brand to reduce the overall thickness of the watch without compromising reliability. The movement is automatic, operating at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz) and providing a power reserve of 42 hours. Citizen also emphasizes the movement’s resistance to magnetism, allowing it to maintain stable timekeeping even when placed close to everyday electronic devices such as smartphones and tablets.

The watch is paired with a stainless steel bracelet that integrates seamlessly into the case design. The price for the limited-edition model is USD 1,600, approximately AED 5,900, while the regular production models are retailing between USD 1,300 (approximately AED 4,800) and USD 1,450 (approximately AED 5,350), depending on the model.
