Limited Edition, Exclusive to the Middle East
Breitling has announced the launch of an exclusive Middle East edition timepiece, the Chronomat Automatic GMT 40, crafted specifically for the region. This new design celebrates Breitling’s 140-year anniversary, featuring Eastern Arabic numerals on the dial as a tribute to Middle Eastern heritage. Limited to just 200 pieces, the Middle East Chronomat GMT 40.
Earlier this year, Breitling introduced its 140th anniversary limited edition collection, including three iconic timepieces—the Premier, Navitimer, and Chronomat—each in black and red gold, featuring the debut of the exclusive B19 perpetual calendar chronograph movement. You can view our video coverage of these anniversary models, as well as our detailed article on the collection.
Aed Adwan, Managing Director of Breitling Middle East, India, and Africa, shared: “As Breitling celebrates its 140th anniversary, we are proud to introduce a special edition of the Chronomat Automatic GMT 40, designed exclusively for the vibrant and diverse Middle Eastern market. This edition reflects the spirit of our anniversary collection, adding a Middle Eastern touch with Eastern Arabic numerals.”
Last year, Breitling also paid homage to the UAE with two special editions for Abu Dhabi and Dubai. One featured an ice-blue dial as a tribute to Abu Dhabi and its Mean Time (ADMT), while the other showcased a vibrant bright blue dial representing Dubai’s Mean Time (DMT).

The Chronomat Automatic GMT 40 is Breitling’s tribute to travel, celebrating its dual time zone display and versatile aesthetic. This edition boasts a stainless steel case measuring 40 mm in diameter and 11.7 mm in height, with cambered sapphire crystal and anti-glare coating on both sides. The unidirectional stainless-steel bezel, along with a fluted, dome-shaped onion crown, enhances ease of use and timeless appeal. The solid, screwed caseback ensures water resistance to 200 meters, combining durability with refined style.
The Chronomat Automatic GMT 40’s black dial has a sophisticated sunray finish, accentuated by 18k red gold-plated Eastern Arabic numerals and a date window at 6 o'clock. The 18k red gold-plated hour and minute hands are coated with Super-LumiNova for enhanced readability. A 24-hour scale along the dial perimeter enables easy tracking of a second time zone, using a red GMT hand with a Super-LumiNova arrow tip.
Inside, the Breitling Caliber 32—a self-winding mechanical movement with bidirectional ball bearings—ensures consistent precision. With a 42-hour power reserve and frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz), the COSC-certified chronometer underscores Breitling’s commitment to quality.
This special edition comes with Breitling’s iconic stainless steel Rouleaux bracelet and a deployment clasp and is limited to just 200 pieces.
